- Jeannie W9 contributionsLovely little adventureAmazing area, little track which loops around the natural bridge. Some water flowing but I bet it’s even more beautiful after some rain. Easy walk and many areas to view from. Trees and forest just Devine ⭐️⭐️⭐️💯Visited September 2023Traveled soloWritten September 29, 2023
- Jo JCaloundra, Australia33 contributionsPerfect way to end a great day of exploringBeautiful weather for a relaxing walk down to the glow worm caves. Were not expecting to see any due to wrong time of year but we were very happy to see them. Very well maintained track. Easy walk for most ages. Would definitely recommend this natural attractionVisited August 2024Traveled with friendsWritten August 3, 2024
- 1PunjabanAuckland, New Zealand14 contributionsNatural Bridge walkWe hired a car in Gold Coast and drove to the Springbrook National park. The drive was scenic and we loved it. The walk to the Natural Bridge is just over a km. It is suitable for all ages and physical levels. The beautiful tree and bird songs on the way are a balm for the soul. The waterfall is a treat for the eyes. Loads of opportunities for beautiful photos.Visited September 2024Traveled with friendsWritten September 11, 2024

A must, according to our list of Must Dos while visiting Gold Coast. The beauty of the natural bridge is calming and soothing, and so is the the walk around. We even got to see frogs and Kookburras, and that was a plus.
You cannot take a dip under this (of the many waterfalls ) but there is one quite close to.this one that can be reached with a small trek...Which we highly record.if you have time and energy.
During the right season you'll get glimpse of glowworm, which makes it all the more exciting but mind you , it has to be after sunset. Do carry mosquito repellent spray and a pullover to keep your self warm if you plan to.stay longer.

The facility is very well designed and maintained, and it's amazing to see the glowworms in their natural habitat.
However, we found that other people tended to use torches all the time, making it hard to get your night vision. So I'd recommend trying to go there when others are not.

Aussies really know how to do looking at and after their natural assets.
Despite it being New Years day, and therefore heaving with visitors this natural wonder really impressed.
We even managed to make out the lil bats and a few glow worms.
Free parking and access down a well maintained path.
A most enjoyable couple of hours, and despite the busy path the scrub turkeys were pretty tame.
Rudimentary toilets, but an excellect coffee shack.

A fair drive from anywhere but certainly worth the visit after rain. It's only a short walk from the carpark (only about 1km) on a concrete pathway. Worth a quick detour to the viewing point (a dead end) above the Natural Bridge before going down to the grotto below. Bent wing bats flit in and out of the cave and glowworms can be seen here as well. We visited after a lot of rain and the water flow was powerful, the noise in the grotto deafening ! The location has multiple car parks for overflow of visitors and toilet facilities. A bit out of the way but glad we made the effort.

Took the kids to see the Natural Bridge. A short drive into the hinterland from the Gold Coast and well worth a half day trip. You can add other waterfalls and walks (we added twin falls into our trip) to make it a longer day. Plenty of Cafe's around at a few of the local villages for a break when needed. Take your own water, fruit and snacks.

A beautiful waterfall + glow worms + well laid walking path + free - what more could you ask for.
This is a beautiful place to go either during the day or at night. If you want to catch the glow worms, you'd obviously have to stay till it gets dark. The glow worms and the falls are a great sight after dark, but you'll have to contend with multiple tourists clicking pictures, throwing mobile phone flashlights etc which can spoil the fun for you

This is a great place to see. It's not an epic walk, and you probably won't find yourself alone in the wilderness, but it fits in well with a swim elsewhere in the Currumbin or Numinbah Valleys, or a through-drive from Murwillumbah to the Gold Coast or Hinterland. The walk is relatively easy (but not wheelchair friendly), and the cave an interesting formation. There are plenty of signs to explain how the formations developed, so take advantage of them.
The surrounding rainforest is typical of much of the Springbrook National Park, with shade species on the forest floor, a canopy of tall trees, and enormous hoop pines lining the track emerging through the canopy. It's a bit easier to get into the three-layered forest here than in other parts of the park, so that's another thing making the walk worthwhile.

It’s a wonderful place to visit. Lots of rainforest, tall trees and a beautiful river. You can see micro bats in the cave where the river runs through, which is its namesake, Natural Bridge. It’s an easy walk, with some stairs. Unfortunately no wheelchair access. In wet weather there was quite a bit of water over the path. They are building new toilets. We went on a super wet day and a also a sunny day the week before.

A short walk to the Natural Arch, however a bit of a drive away from the rest of the sites in Springbrook NP. Please read and respect the signs. It is a one-way track in a clock-wise direction and strictly no swimming. The trail is well maintained and not challenging - although not suitable for those with mobility issues. We were there during a long drought (and just before huge deluge of rain) so the creek was barely flowing. Plenty of parking and toilets at beginning of walk. Highly recommend.

I took my wife to see Natural Arch in Springbrook National Park after some 30 years since I had visited it. That was way back when you could actually jump through the hole into the pool below. (Not allowed any longer).
It is still very inspiring to walk down to the rock pool & a credit to the Rangers/Council for it’s upkeep in this natural wonder. Well done. Keep up the good work.

Hi!
My husband I are planning a trip to Gold Coast early July. We would like to visit Natural Bridge for glow worms. As my husband wants to drink at night, we think of going there before dawn. My questions are:
1 Are there many glow worms in winter? (Is the view still fastinating?)
2 Can we enjoy glow worms before dawn (until sunrise)? All the tours and self-driving visitors go there in the evening. I am afraid they won't glow early in the morning OR the car park is closed then.
3 Is driving to Natural Bridge is safe? I hear that there are no street lights on the road to reach there. Are there any possibilities that Kangaroos or any big animals cross the road and hit my car??
Thank you.
Elle

Yes there are no street lights, and yes it's rural Au. so a narrow and twisty road but Aussie drivers touring tend to be a forgiving bunch, so take your time and you'll be fine.
Written January 3, 2023
What is the current situation? Is it closed as road signs say?
Written February 29, 2020
Hi, I would like to know if Natural Bridge and the surroundings of it are opens and safe as I'd like to plan a visit next week ? Thank you for taking time to send me your point of view. Kind regards. nel.

This place is always open as there is no gate there. It is safe but you must walk up and down the stairs to get to the bridge. We went when it was a little wet but the path was still safe to walk on even at night. Take a torch to see where you are going if you go to see the glow worms at night

Hi - just wondering if you can see the glow worms for free? Do you need to pay to go onto one of the tours or can you just turn up and do it? And what time would you recommend going?
Written July 24, 2019
Hello we didn’t go to the glow worms 😊
Written July 24, 2019
Hi, is the path to the glow worms steep, or relatively flat as I will have someone with me who has difficulty walking too far. Also, are the glow worms visible through the day?
Written May 9, 2018
Sorry for the delay in responding. The glow worms can’t be seen dyeing the day. The walk is comfortable and there is no pressure to rush. There are some steps and uneven ground but as long as everyone takes care and watches their step you will be fine. I’m a pensioner and I was ok. Hope you enjoy the visit

What time of day is the best to visit? I prefer a time with less people. Don't mind getting there early.
Written January 10, 2018
Channy, I was back there from Sydney three days ago. Earlier in the morning would be best. I was there about 0830 and visitors were there but not many. I also walked down to the base of Purlingbrook Falls early starting at 0730 and there was no-one there at all. Passed a few heading down on my way back but none there. It was beautiful with the cool of the morning. Cheers Pete

Hi, how do you get to the cave from Broadbeach? There's no address for the GPS as such. How long is the drive?
Written February 26, 2017
The drive is about 55 minutes according to google maps. I used google maps it's on Bakers Rd Springbrook. Once you get there just follow the signs

Hi
We will be camping at settlement soon just wondering if anyone has camped in spots 6 and 7. we are after how big the camp sites are. Would a 6x3 Gazebo fit with a pod on the side. Also the camp kitchen is there a power point there? Any Help very much appreciated. Thanks

Natural Bridge is a day tripper's paradise. There's picnic a area but from what I saw there's nowhere for camping at Natural Bridge.

Could you go the this in a manual wheelchair? I really want to go for my kids but not sure it will be accessible. I can walk a few steps but for distance need the chair.
Written January 15, 2017
Unfortunately there is no wheelchair access as there are several stairs along the walk to navigate.
