    A disappointment
We didn’t buy tickets on line to save $$ & so glad we didn’t. On the day paid $10 less due to ride closure. A lot of rides were closed 😬. Movieworld hadn’t changed much since we were there many years ago. Expensive food & same type shows.

    Great day out!
We’ve just visited the park for the first time, we were a little hesitant after some of these reviews but thought the kids would love it anyway. And that was exactly the case! We looked up the rides that were closed before we went so we were prepared (it’s all on the website and app). When you get to the first person checking tickets they also told us multiple rides were out and then we got to the second person scanning tickets who told us again the rides that were out. I don’t know how you could possibly get in the gate without knowing this information before hand. Luckily for us most of the big rides were out and the kids rides were fine. Nothing looked run down, the costumes, the rides, the scenery, the shops, everything was pristine. We had such a great day!

    A magical place
Very professionally run outfit. The place is spotless and the ride staff and roaming characters are so friendly and obliging. They are also very supportive of those with a disability which is something I have a lot of respect for. They have a good mixture of shows, thrill rides and family rides. You just can’t help but feel happy when you are there. The best theme park in Australia by far.

My favorite Park in Gold Coast
This was my favorite theme park in Gold Coast, two other ones being Sea World and Wet’n’Wild. Everything in this park was right. The thrilling rides, diversity of the them (there are rides suitable for all ages and thrill requirements!), number of rides, the shops, the food (appropriate for theme park, so no fine dinning but enough lighter and veggie options). I also liked the fact that the park tried it best to stick to the theme! The park is not too large so you can do it all in one day. We didn’t buy the line skipping pass but in July there was not many visitors and the longest we waited for a ride was 1 hour. But maybe in summer you would need to buy this pass if you want to do all the attractions. My favorite ride was the one where you shoot with laser guns, but it was the parade at the end of the day which made this visit extra special. Warner Bros movie world
The queues were too long. The virtual queue closed. My children had waited for 2hours for a popular tide and average an hour for others. The fast tack was too expensive to add on which was 159 per person. We arrived there around 10.30 and left about 5pm due to the long queue. If anyone plan to visit this move world, may need to be there earlier. Otherwise, you may not habe enough times to enjoy all the rides especially the rides for adults and teens.

    Stinky Stunt Show
Not what I remember it to be, the place is looking tired which doesn't ease the pain of paying top dollar to enter the park when a bunch of rides are also non operational. The stunt show has gone downhill, what is with that script? Stank of burnt rubber inside and outside of the stunt show area, and didn't seem all that family friendly to be walking around the park smelling tire fumes most of the day as well as the continual sound of burnouts.... It should be called a Burnout show instead of Stunt show. A suggestion for the character parade would be to replace the Diesel smelling VW car with an electric car, the fumes are pretty bad and again all the little kids standing around in close proximity smelling those fumes at a family friendly Theme park is odd. Oh and soooo many ride closures, but I can't complain about that because I'm all for safety checks.

Best theme park out of the 3
Definitely the best theme park out of the 3! Staff were great, we went weekday non school holidays so line ups weren’t so bad. The vibe is a little less than what it would be on a weekend or school holidays. Some rides weren’t operating however they advertise this before you plan your day. The colored mermaid braids were robbery $80!! Dirty Harry’s was great for lunch kids had the DIY taco kit good price and filled them up. Toilets are clean as is theme park. Definitely pick this one out of all of them.

    Still love Movie World
Family of 4 went along to Movie World. We had a fantastic day. There are shows (stunt show on twice daily), it is loud but we enjoyed it. The 4D theatre show (great for all ages), Street parade was great too. We used the app to know what wait times were and what times shows were too. Sometimes they have maintenance on the rides so do check this in advance. They have the kids area (suitable for younger kids 8 and under) which includes a fairly fast kids coaster. For older kids and adults there are multiple coasters (hubby did the DC joker which is an insane ride! Superman is thrilling too. 0 to 100 in 2 seconds, still a very fast ride), batwing spaceshot was fun as was the Wild West. I did miss the scooby doo coaster (my fav ride). We ate a massive brekky so only had a small lunch here. The little bakery on Main Street (opposite the 4D theatre), has an awesome variety: pies approx $8, sandwiches approx $10 and a yummy chicken caesar salad for $12. It was very nice abd fresh too with crunchy lettuce. The Dirty Harry bar had tacos ($3) for $22. The burger, chips and drink is pretty expensive $21, its very bland. Ice creams are reasonable too. Buy yourself the pass for multiple parks.much better value. We did Movie world twice (full day and a half day plus Seaworld).

    Best introduction to theme parks
My three-year-olds first time at a theme park and she got so excited when she saw the superheroes near the gate. We walked around for ages just looking at things and shops. Wish there was more food options, but overall okay. She got really excited about the rides, the lines were good and not to long for a weekend. She was sad about the rollercoaster (she was an inch to short), but until she grows not much she can do about that. I would recommend that you look at all the shops before buying anything. The staff were amazing and incredibly helpful when asking them about things, the staff member named Ava was so great, and helped us at the gate with things that were awesome around the park. The view was amazing, and it was great to just look around at all the things and people dressed up and in character around the place.

This is our second visit to Movie world. And we were unfortunately disappointed. Do NOT recommend for families with very young children or anyone who doesn't want to wait 45mins in the extremely uncomfortable heat with stuffy air. Fast passes to skip queues are way overpriced at $150 a person.

It was 31 degree day and all the lines for the rides were AT LEAST 30mins. And ONE HOUR for the superman and DC rivals roller coasters. The Superman queue was indoor/shade but the confined space only made the wait unbearable. We waited an hour in really stuffy, sweaty and hot air with no fans or no air circulation for a roughly 30 second ride.

DC hypercoaster was great for the thrill factor and also good it had misted fans outside in the queue. There is an option to pay $15 a person to ride backwards and you skip the queue. I recommend going forward facing first, since the intensity is tripled going backwards.

I enjoyed the movie props showcase and the photo opportunities around the park. But more shaded areas and seating are sorely needed.

The biggest disappointment for us is the 'Arkham Asylum' rollercoaster being closed for maintenance. The website did state this but there was no warning or sign/poster at the front of the venue. This is really disappointed us because we all wanted to try the VR headsets on the ride. This is a new feature, and we travelled and payed full price for not a full functioning theme park.

When you go to this theme park, there is no doubt that the rides and attractions here truly are amazing, unfortunately the wait time is 90 minutes or more, meaning you only get to go on maybe... 3 rides in the day including time for lunch. Not to mention 3 major attractions were closed down at the time that we went there, the Scooby doo ride, the Arkham Asylum ride, and the major water ride that is found in the Wild West park of this theme park. Then, the food is shockingly expensive!!! It costs 9 dollars for a sausage roll, 8 dollars for a frappe chino and 15 bucks just to ride backwards on a roller coaster. In summary, I would only recommend this place to people who love to waste their time and money sitting around in the Aussie heat all day waiting to get on their ride.

Thanks for getting in touch Ki3ranmaccc. As we're open year round, there are times when attractions maintenance is necessary and this is scheduled in a way to ensure our guests can still experience a fun-filled day out. A list of any attractions under maintenance is communicated to our guests on our website and prior to entry at our front gates. At times, rides may also temporarily close during your visit due to unforeseen circumstances and our team make every effort to make these attractions available as soon as possible. We can understand how disappointing it can be to miss your favourite rides, however guest safety is always our highest priority. If you’d like to discuss your experience further, please send us an email with your contact number to support@vrtp.zendesk.com so a member of our team can get in touch with you directly.

These theme parks are greedy and should put a capacity on entry to the parks such as places like Gumbuya World in Victoria do. They further show their greed with the fast track tickets, wait times are ridiculous as it is, but then they have fast track ticket holders taking up whole rides and then going straight back around and lining up again and getting 3-4 rides in the time normal ticket holders need to wait 90 minutes minimum, it is greedy and destroys the day for people that can't afford $600 for a family to fastrack, what happened to just looking after all paying customers?
Apart from a few rides with several not even working and others at limited capacity or having delays due to breakdowns, the theme park mainly consists of overpriced food and retail shops ($9 for an average
hot dog), we missed the stunt shows as our kids were stuck in line for rides, we saw very few characters or anything that really made the place special. Not enough shady sitting areas whilst waiting hours all day for kids doing rides, not enough shade for those lining up for hours in the heat, it surely wouldn't kill them to hand out some water or icy poles to people in long hot lines, or atleast have some characters interact with them to break up the boredom. Would not visit again, the rides were good but waiting 90 minutes plus for two minute rides really took the enjoyment out of them for our kids.. I don't know about non peak times but definetly AVOID during summer and school holidays..

The park is really small. We covered the entire area in a couple of hours. (It wasn’t busy.) Everything seems to be more focused on kids up until the age of 18. Two of the thrill rides were closed when we visited (Green Lantern and Arkham Asylum). Although the DC Rivals HyperCoaster, the Superman Escape (poor airconditioning), and the Scooby-Doo rides were enjoyable, I would never pay AUD$100 per ticket to drive to a park for just a few hours. The Warner Bros themes/stories felt weak and dated here and there. There are a lot of okay food stores and the occasional coffee bar around. Quality was good, pricing not too bad for a theme park. I would not recommend this park for people from 20 - 45 if you’re just doing this with friends. Probably better to do with younger children/kids.

I am extremely disappointed in the Magic Memories service. My family and I took a holiday to Gold Coast and visited Movie World where we had many pictures taken. I purchased the wrist band for $40 which I was told the photos would be uploaded in 48 hours. Then I called again and they said wait one more day. It’s now been over a week. I have emailed Zendesk twice with no response and have called Village roadshow 3 times and have kept saying no one can help except the zendesk email address.

Whether this system is a scam which I have now seen negative reviews about this service, or there is a huge delay, I would like some sort of answer. If you cannot provide me with the photos, I would like a refund!

Regards
Shreyas

A trip to the Gold Coast with the family was never complete without a visit to Movie World. It was a magical place filled with wonder and unique experiences, the memories of which woulda at a lifetime. We visited yesterday for the first time in 4 years and the experience has changed for the worse.
A quick google at the front gate can save you significant amounts of money as you realise tickets at the turnstile are around $10-20 pp more expensive than purchasing online.
No maps are available anymore, I always loved sitting with friends and family and marking out our day’s activities. Families wanting to have a “device free day” suddenly realise that they need the app and their faces stuck in their iPhone all day if they want to follow what’s happening. The app provides inaccurate information regarding wait times for rides, and shows you which rides are “unavailable” or “under maintenance” on the day you visit. No discount or compensation is offered for these closures mind your, they’re just letting you know. On the day we were there, unavailable rides and attractions included Green Hornet (people stuck on a carriage in the sun for 30+minutes with umbrellas!), many in the children’s area, Wild West Falls Adventure Ride, Rivals HyperCoaster, Doomsday Destroyer and The Fun House.
Wait time for Scooby Doo was listed as 10 minutes and perhaps if we didn’t have scores of “Fast Track” people moving in front of us during our 1 hour and 40 minute wait this may have been true.
The feeling for a child waiting in the hot sun for a ride and watching people who can afford the $99 pp fast track race past was very deflating.
So for $278 for 2 adults and 1 child we had 2 child rides and 1 adult ride in the 6 hours we spent there. We missed the car show due to being in queues and left feeling ripped off and hot.
Farewell Magical Movie World, so sad to see you replaced with the Land of the Haves and the Have-nots.

A group of 6 of us paid $100 each for a day pass ticket and let’s just say it was a complete waste of money and time to say the least. We arrived before opening time and still waited an hour to get in. We then arrived to the superman ride which we STILL had to wait for another hour to get on. We tried two other rides after that and waited 2+ hours to get on. The place should be capped to x amount of people instead of letting people flow in like ants. Not to mention we have never witnessed such a large enterprise where they did not perform covid safe practices such as wiping down the rides or having cleaners roaming around the place while there was thousands of people which were predominantly children. Also these leaches promote ‘fast pass tickets’ for $200 per person which allows you to jump the queue to the front, seeing this didn’t really affect me until I saw a child crying to his father asking why they couldn’t do the same. Money shouldn’t be able to buy happiness unfortunately at movie world it does.

Our team work very hard to optimise capacity to ensure wait times are kept to a minimum. Guests are also welcome to purchase Fast Track which provides access to a dedicated line for selected attractions. Thanks for taking the time to share your review.

ust so disappointing.

The staff in this park quite genuinely had two disabled teenagers in tears today!! Being in wheelchairs and very restricted in things they can access in the community, Movie World has always been one of their favourite places. Today however they had staff yelling across rides discussing their abilities and drawing more unnecessary and unwanted attention from the crowds, making them feel ever more different. Half the rides were closed and the few that were open were restricted even further when they were told they weren't allowed to go on some of their favourites due to their disabilities, despite this never being a problem before. A family day of fun turned into an absolute joke as they weren't allowed to go on the rides at the same time, let alone sit together and enjoy themselves like other siblings do. On other attractions that weren't rides, they were placed right on the edge of the show stopping them from having the same experience as everyone else. Even the disabled toilet was out of order!! There were other patrons there in wheelchairs who felt equally left out, one who spent the entire time sitting at the side of the road watching characters as there was nothing else they could access, and another who left before midday as they had covered everything that was accessible to them already. For a place that prides itself on being inclusive and works so closely with organisations like 'make-a-wish' and 'Starlight Children’s Foundation', they really went a long way to making my children feel unwelcome today.

In addition, half the park was closed for "maintenance" because of covid.... work that one out? Literally only a few rides open, more or less every place to eat/drink was closed and many of the parades cancelled. But every souvenir shop was still open, every pay to play game still open and still charging full price for socially distanced meet and greet photos. Still charging full price but not providing even half the experience is disgusting! Where is the community spirit?

When we raised some of these concerns, we were promised replacement tickets to come back when some of the other rides reopened but did not receive them. The kids were so disappointed with their day that they said it doesn't matter that they didn't get the tickets as promised as they didn't ever want to come back.

It's just really sad.

We attended on a Monday 23/07. Park was reasonably full but comfortable. Several rides closed for the day which impacted what we could do with our grandson as 3 rides were for small children like train ride, carousel.
First of all the entry fee is ridiculously excessive for older visitors attending with their children and gran kids. And I would imagine for younger families who have to queue for long periods to access rides, Yes if you buy a seasonal ticket it is cheaper, granted but when from outer state visiting its not worth it. I can only imagine what the wait times are like on a busy weekend.
Where we could we did engage in events like the stunt cars, batman exhibit and parade, and that was about it, did a lot of looking and paid exorbitant prices for food and beverages....hey $5.50 for a 600ml coke, highway robbery and should be in the wild west themed area where you expect to be robbed by a bandit. I guess when you have a 'captive' marker you pay the price. After waiting like 20 mins for my gran son to meet superman, we were turned away at the last minute, the gruff excuse from Supermans side kick assistant was he had to be somewhere else. Fair enough but surely someone could have been placed to gauge the queue and maybe let people know that he will only be able to meet kids/dults from this point, that way the rest could go and do something else. Very poor customer interaction...oh sorry it was Superman! And to top that off after waiting almost 45minutes for the car ride (sign said 45 mins) we were advised that the ride had a technical issue and would be closed indefinitely. Does anyone realise how this affects young kids! We were later informed that it was a change in staff that caused the delay...WTF. Overall disappointing visit and to be honest overheard 2 separate families making similar complaints/observations.
Would like to see the 'park' adopt a different pricing strategy, whereby you pay a set general entry fee and able to purchase a book (can be an app on the phone) of tickets for rides. Unused tickets can be on-sold and/or used next time you visit the park (maybe 12 month period). Younger attendees can then use what they like and older attendees or those constrained by smaller kids can feel more comfortable in strolling around and use the rides as convenient. This is a win win for all.
In the current economic climate which looks like worsening the park management need to look at alternative strategies and not rip off the consumers supporting their business.

For what was on offer for our visit- with major rides out action for part of the day, or the whole day, we found the whole experience very expensive. We paid $376 online for 2 adults, a 4 year old and a 7 year old, which is not cheap, especially as the rides a 4 year old can experience are very limited.
The price of the food was "next level"expensive. We paid $45 for 3 hot dogs and chips, $5 for a cup of pop corn and something ridiculous for a couple of drinks
It seems like everything that could be sold, was being sold- $20 for photos of the super heroes, who were non existent, $5 to get dried off, after the western water ride.
We finished our day, with very little change from $500, which is a lot of money, for a very average day.
Won't be back.
