About
A destination for sea-faring travellers and those seeking great wine and good adventure, our home in the wild is located along the East Coast of Tasmania; a scenic 2 hour drive from Hobart and 1.5 hours from Launceston. On a small island cast adrift, a shipwrecked coast is buffeted by the crashing waves of the Southern Ocean. Around a treacherous bend, the mysterious sea relents, and a protected haven comes into view. And it’s here, where vines meet the sea, that we found our home. Welcome to our corner of the wild. Meet you at Devil's Corner.

Always a lovely experience visiting Devil’s Corner.
Disappointing reaction from a staff member throwing her hands up in her car behind me when I was hesitant on where to park my 6.8m motorhome in the large vehicle park. She obviously wanted to get as close to the front door as possible. As a Tasmanian I think it’s the little things that make a huge difference to how visitors enjoy their experience. The new building is fabulous but the plastic flowers in the hanging baskets not appealing. I’m sure this could be out sourced to a local gardener to supply living attractive plants. Maybe succulents which can look beautiful with little care? Again - it’s the little things. I recommend a visit to Devils Corner for a wine and enjoy the amazing views. Annie

Coffee and Wine at its Best!!
We stopped off to purchase some more delicious Devils corner Chardonnay and happened to order a Villino Latte. It was amazing!! Best coffee. We bought a couple of packs to take home to UK and now trying to see if we can purchase this over here. I highly recommend going to the vineyard and tasting the coffee!

Bubbles and Oysters with a view
Dropped in for tasting and some lunch. The venue is good with plenty of seating in and outside, with a spectacular view over to Coles Bay. We had some delicious oysters and bubbles for lunch (but there are plenty of other options available), then followed with a tasting. The Pinot's and bubbles there are fantastic and we left with a 'few' of them. Our host was lovely, attentive and answered any questions we had. We will be back again the next time we are in Tassie!

Unfortunately there was very little if any "wine tasting" in the true sense. In order to actually 'taste' their wine you need to purchase a flight of wines at a cost of $15 pp. This is not really unusual as I have visited a number of wineries both throughout Australia and around the World, so initially I did not feel this was a problem.
Firstly however, unlike other wineries, this was not taken off the cost when purchasing any of their products. Secondly no one provided any information about their wines, it was simply provided by way of a printed sheet. Thirdly the amount of wine in each of the (5) tasters was less than 2 mouthfuls.
I previously visited this winery 4 years ago, and on that occasion we did a 'free' tasting and purchased some of their wine.
Given my recent experience however, I did not purchase any and would not recommend their cellar door to anyone.
The only positive part of the experience was the food sections which were well priced and in line with similar products throughout Australia.
They need to be more generous and more customer focused.

This winery was not about the customer experience, it was about making money, moving you on and selling wine. Internationally owned,Chinese I’m told, we were given a small pour flight of wines for $15 and a written set of notes and sent on our way to find somewhere to sit. A cold day we were directed to the small indoor shed which was fly blown, dirty and had a lovely view through a big absolutely filthy window. Could not get out of there quick enough! This winery should take a leaf out of hunter valley, eden valley and Barossa where the winemakers actually care. Drive on

Arrived circa 4-15pm with advertised closing at 5pm but unfortunately the representative was very unenthusiastic about our arrival. We were made feel like we were an unwelcome annoyance and the wine tasting was done abruptly with little explanation let alone passion about the origins of the wines or willingness to positively engage the group. The representative did a disservice to her wine company and the Tasmanian tourism industry. Sweeping the floor as we tasted wine was a clear message we had upset her early closing plans, yet she had been quick to take our money and then treat us with disdain

Went there for lunch expecting a sit down seafood restaurant not a kiosk with a small courtyard that was rather noisy as there were 2 large tables from day tours.
I should have researched better, having said that the wine was great and the seafood superb.
This place has massive potential to be so much more restaurant wise, the wines and seafood deserve it, the location and views are great too

Nice location with beautiful views.

We obviously came here with the purpose of wine buying and tasting.
We asked for the wine tasting and we’ve been denied one on a weird reason of full bookings (plenty tables free around and most people had wine tasting boards). They had not problem selling us glass service...
It is really confusing when some business put illogical rules in place and annoy customers willing to purchase their products.
Having totally missed to understand their ways of treating customers we didn’t buy not shall we return.
Surely not the first or last to think the same.

We booked a premium tasting at $20pp which had personalised service overlooking the expansive view from the cellar door.

We have been in tas for almost 3 months and have visited all wine regions here, and can honestly say the tasting experience offered by Angus was BY FAR the most down to earth and engaging we’ve come across the whole time. He is an asset to this business.

The wines were an interesting mix - $20 included two sparklings, two whites and 3 reds, each with their own individual style and whilst we really enjoyed their new experimental Pinot/Syrah blend, we thought the price tag of $70per bottle a bit steep. We definitely would have purchased some of this if it was more around $40-50. In the end we took home some chardy & Pinot (which we also enjoyed by the glass overlooking the stunning views with our lunch).

Lunch was a bit harder to review (because we feel it’s unfair to judge the winery for their food partners) BUT the seafood place was definitely a let down. The oysters were small, somewhat fishy and still had quite a few beard “hairs” on them and some flaky shell in the oyster itself. They had been opened but not ‘shucked’ in our opinion, which means the tendon holding the oyster to the shell is cut so they can be eaten by pretty much by tipping them into your gob! The joining fibres were still intact on these, which was really difficult to cut using a bamboo fork especially when they are coated in toppings so you can’t see the oyster. The oysters got a 1/5 from us.

The pizza on the other hand was delicious! Crispy gluten free bases, tasty toppings and generous portions. The pizzas we CAN recommend.

Don’t know why this beautiful venue doesn’t just open up their own restaurant and eliminate the concerns of underwhelming food partners??!!

Either way, the views were sensational, great pizza, some excellent wine and hopefully you’ll get the spot on service from Angus on the day you’re there too. 🍷

My expectations were possibly too high for the Devil's Corner winery. A lover of their wine I was excited to visit this venue, enjoy a sav blanc overlooking the stunning hazards with a plate of something delicious to eat. I found it surprising that the venue did not maximize the view of the hazards more with indoor tables looking out. The deck had some views but it was a cold day on our visit and so we sat in the shipping container (with coats on). Not the atmosphere I had anticipated. Suitable indoor dining options could be explored especially with Tasmania's often inclement weather. The tables in the courtyard set up had no views, something that is quite disappointing when world class scenery is just on the other side. If you are happy to sit on the grass and picnic you'll have a great view. Buzzers let you know when food is ready to collect and you carry your drinks to your seat after purchase. Wine as always tasted delicious.

We did the premium tasting for an extra $5 which was 100% worth it. Our guide Lisa was absolutely amazing and shared so much information with us. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and purchased a few bottles after the tasting. Lisa made our experience one to remember! The food stations on site served delicious food also, I highly recommend the salmon paté.

Wonderful location with sweeping scenic views. Nice wine selection. Deliciously thin pizza and various other fresh food offerings. Live music adds a special touch.

Prior to arriving we called up and tried to book a wine tasting, the lady on the phone advised that we would not need to as long as we arrived by 4pm. We then drove OVER 30 minutes to the destination, however when we arrived we were very rudely greeted by an older lady with a blonde bob who said we were not allowed to enter due to flooding 10 minutes ago (even though there was no flooding in sight). We expressed our disappointment, to which the response was “oh well you didn’t pay for anything”. To say we were disgusted with the customer service is an understatement, this lady was terribly condescending and should be ashamed of herself. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!
We then took our business elsewhere and spent over $300 at the Freycinet Vineyard up the road (which had excellent welcoming customer service….and wine)
