We had a spectacular day Skiing the Tasman Glacier with Alpine Guides on Aug 12th 2020 - The Walker Group ;-) . All 10 of us were blown away by the scale of the place. Our guide Lewis was great, very knowledgable about the mountains and the glacier. The weather could not have been better either. Didn't expect first tracks in very nice powder particularly on the 2nd run. Everyone should add this to their bucket list. You do not have to be an expert to ski this, intermediate skiers will handle it easily.

Total highlight of our school holidays! We are feeling truly grateful to have experienced such a fantastic trip skiing on the Tasman Glacier. A combo of amazing weather, fabulous friends w 3 families in total, fresh snow & top guides made this an amazing day. The helicopter ride is amazing in itself, however the long ski runs and location is breathtaking. Being up there to visit our precious glaciers of Aotearoa was like visiting our great ancestors and we felt very fortunate and privileged, I highly recommend this trip with your friends & family. Thank you to the terrific guides Anna, Tai, Dave & Lewis for giving us an experience of a lifetime.

We skied the Tasman Glacier with three families, it was simply amazing. The guides are incredibly experienced, friendly, enthusiastic and helpful. The scenery was just incredible, way beyond our expectations. We have varying degrees of skiing ability which was easily worked around. The powder snow was the best we’ve skied on in New Zealand. A once in a lifetime experience we will never forget. Thanks so much for the great experience. We would love to come back again one day.

A Must Do. This is a full day experience. You should absolutely ski Mount Cook. You take a small plane up and land on the top of the glacial snowfield. Its enormous and very safe and do-able. VERY FUN FOR AN INTERMEDIATE SKIER. I flew up in there and was blown away at the size of the glacier. You get two runs a day due to the size/length. You can rent fat powder skis with them, if you don't have them it's ok but fat powder skis will make your experience more enjoyable. Handicap Accessible - one of our skiers brought his "outriggers" and rented a single fat powder ski. It was difficult but our guides made it do-able and really enjoyable. Lunch is included, They pack a lunch for all guests and you all picnic on the glacier. I enjoyed the hot soup at lunch the most ! What a Day ! Thank you Mal and Ben for guiding us we really enjoyed "your winter office" !

I have been a skier since I was a kid and had this trip on my bucket list for a very long time. I finally did it for my 50th.... should have done it years ago! The skiing is not hard... my biggest concern about doing the trip was that I wasn’t going to be a good enough skier. This was not the case and in reality if you can ski an intermediate run , then you can do this. The guides Mal(function) and Ben from Alpine Guides were amazing and provide all the equipment and training that you need. We hired fat skis from them to make it easier. The scenery is spectacular and is just mind blowing... video and photos don’t do this justice... if I could recommend one ski trip in NZ , this would be it! Get out there and do it... you will have no regrets.
