This is the only ski field we have ever been to in New Zealand where you get to experience uncrowded slopes like you do in the USA and Canada, there is not the constant fear of being taken out by someone else. The lift queues are extremely short, and usually non existent. The facilities at the ski field are fairly... More

We spent Saturday Sept 3rd at Mt Dobson and used the mountain shuttle to get up & down the bumpy, gravel road that wasn't at all snowy, this service was convenient - see Mt Dobson ski area page of Metservice website for contact details. It was quiet on the hill, never waited for a chair. No snow in the past... More

One of my favourite ski fields! Although reasonably small it has plenty of runs for the amount of lifts running! Great for all levels of skiers, the road up is extremely well kept making it an accessible ski field! The only downside is it is very pricey, luckily I got a grab one voucher so was half the price but... More

+ No queues. + Good for absolute beginners who have never been on skis/snowboard. + Cheaper at $80 day ticket, $50 for half-day from 12:30pm onwards. + Would be fantastic on a powder day with large gentle bowls. - Lifts were slow and very run down. - MINUSCULE ski area. - Drive up to the mountain is gravel with no... The girls really enjoyed their lesson with Matt he was really patient and gave them confidence. By the end of the day 1 daughter had progressed to... More

It's a run down ski field with one chair lift, and on the day we went the chair lift wasn't open because their groomer broke. Normally that would be fine, however we were told before purchasing our passes that it was going to open. An hour passed using their very slow and tedious t-bar an nothing had opened, when we... Family of 5 including 2 young kids. We don't ski but wanted to spend time in the snow We hired brilliant tabbogans for $5 and were directed to an allocated area. This was perfect and we felt as welcome as people there to ski. Also the cafe staff were lovely and so helpful, including loaning us a pair of glasses... More
