It looked beautiful on the mid summer evening, elegant against the deep azure sky.
A great work in brick it was consecrated in 1880. Having a capacity of 1100 of a congregation it serves its locality well.
A soaring bell tower of over 70 metres is one of its outstanding attributes.

On the edge of Kirkeparken in city center stands this majestic Cathedral. It was built about 1880 in the Gothic Revival style of brick, with a longitudinal plan in the form of a Latin cross. The single tower is 236 feet tall at the western end, which is part of the main facade.

The cathedreal is situated in the heart of Fredrikstad, between two parks.You can find beautiful stained-glass windows inside.

Id say this is another must-see place in Fredrikstad city. At least for the magnificent architecture and historical value.

Not so many open churches any more. As i was here for a funeral it seemed rigth place to visit.The church was nice and peaceful.
