Website is WRONG
Sep 2017
I had the concierge of our hotel check the website for me, because it is in only Norwegian to make sure it would be open on Tuesday in September. It said it was... but when we got there it was closed and the sign said weekends only. We were very disappointed.

Hello Thank you so much for the feedback. We are sorry for the inconvenience! We are open all weekends Sat and sundays year around. The hotel concierge must have mistaken our summer opening hours lasting until 20th august. We are sorry for the incident, wish you the very best. Best Regards Jonas

Model trains!
Aug 2017 • Couples
I love trains. That's why I wanted to visit this unique little "museum." It seems that this lucky man has been able to turn his hobby into a way to make a living. There are so many trains, and so much scenery!
If you are expecting a great museum full of ancient artifacts, this is not for you, but if you like trains and wish to be absolutely thrilled by the scope of what can be done with models, don't miss it!

An interesting model railway layout in Gamlebyen
Apr 2017 • Friends
This model railway exhibition (modelljernbanesenter) in a detailed landscape and consisting of 30 computercontrolled train sets is well worth a visit.
Here is also a model layout of Gamlebyen itself.
Very good for families with children.
There is a related shop inside and a cafeteria just outside.

Extensive continuous run layout
Oct 2016 • Solo
The trains snake through several rooms and run at various levels across bridges and through tunnels. Lots of fun. Great for kids. Middling standard for model railroading - it is built with sectional track. There are loads of building structures - all plastic kits. No weathering of buildings or rolling stock. Rolling stock is plastic ready to run. There is also a model of the Bamlebyen Forteress which is scratchbuilt in large scale. Pretty neat.
