Unless you are a buddhist, there's nothing much to see after a long walk. You will find a HUGE statue and people swarming everywhere. If you have an intention, this is probably a good place to pray for it. Nice view though.

Nice view and surroundings. Concrete all around and trash. Tourism is now a good business in China. For newcomers it may be exotic. Nevertheless if You are in the area it is good to come here.

The online info and reality were very different. We had expected to get on a bus and go direct to the ferry. Reality was 2 buses, admittedly on good roads but lets say the drivers didn't hang about! We arrived late afternoon, and there was just time to walk up to see the giant statue. We were there at sunset... More

If you are looking for a relaxing week with healthy food and lots of hiking, this is the place to be. The coastal island is occupied by numerous ancient temples, vegetarian cuisine and relaxing sereal ambiance. It is just a ferry ride from Shanghai or a 2 hour car ride from Ningbo to Zhou Jia Jian Port which you need... More
