A nice beach in China
Apr 2017 • Friends
We were there just before the season start so paid only around 30 rmb each, definitely won't come there in peak season - too expansive and possibly crowded.
Apart from that a nice area, quiet, good for a short gateway from Shanghai for example.
There are all facilities there like toilet, shower and some snacks stalls and great Muslim bbq (you gotta eat your fingers off).

Too expensive just for a beach
May 2016
Quite nice but simply too expensive just to see a beach. There are nicer options further away if you have a car and are flexible which are free of charge.

Busy, fun, touristy in August
Aug 2016 • Family
Excellent beach with good, clean sand, gentle drop off, great waves, changing facilities and showers behind - so it should be at 70RMB per head to get in. You can rent a gazebo, tables and chairs by the hour (but 400RMB cash deposit). Lots of lifeguards. It was very crowded the day we went (a weekday in August) but me and my two kids had a great time playing in the waves. Behind the beach is a typical touristy town (Europeans will be reminded of many small Mediterranean resorts) selling floaties, hats and cheap Chinese meals. If you are up for a traditional family day at the beach this delivers but also charges. I imagine you need a car to get there plenty of parking near beach entrance.

70 RMB per person

The beach looks nice because very seldom there is some sand here. All is rather clean (probably except of water). But the place is not bad.

Cold and windy on April
Apr 2015 • Friends
I would have to come back some other time.
It was cold and windy when I went there last month on April.
We walked around the beach, hiked all the way to the end.
And the sculptures are great art works.

Pleasent beach

Went here during the Qingming festival, so there were a lot of people, but still a nice place for a visit. Taking the double decker bus was absolutely worth it, 30 kuai for 1 day or 40 kuai for 2, and it can take you to all the major sites around Zhoushan (including here). Make sure to bring your own snacks and drinks as everything inside is expensive and there are no other stores nearby. Great place for a picnic and playing on the beach. If the weather is crummy, I would choose a different place.
