Awesome, peaceful park, and stunning when the masses of huge lotus flowers are in bloom. Highly recommend at the right time of year. I first visited in the first half of 2002 and again in Sept 2010. Fantastic both times.

I work in Baoding so naturally take the time to see as many sights in town as I can whilst working this side of the world, I must say I’ve been to the lotus gardens twice. The fist time was in winter, the water is frozen over and it’s especially cold compared to just outside on the streets due to the amount of water but it holds such a beauty to it, in winter naturally there are no flowers blooming but it’s still a stunning sight to go and see during this period if you find yourself here in winter however the real winner is during spring and summer the lotus flowers bloom and it’s a beautiful sight to see, the entrance fee is fairly priced as it’s a local attraction and of course Baoding isn’t a first tier town so everything is a lot cheaper. If you find yourself here during whichever period or time of year it is I highly recommend popping in to have a look at the buildings the architecture and the ponds and flowers depending on season!

Even though it was winter, the Lotus Garden is peaceful and beautiful. We were the only tourists in the park, which is a nice change from the crowded attractions during the summer. The architecture is similar to many other historical sites in China, particularly the Summer Palace in Beijing, but because the Lotus Garden is smaller, I felt like I could enjoy seeing each part without rushing.

Most of the indoor exhibitions were closed; I'm not sure if that was because it was the off-season. But even without seeing inside most of the building, there is plenty of natural beauty to enjoy outside.

Like most Chinese attractions, there are a lot of steps, mostly uneven, and few guardrails. So this would not be stroller-friendly.

Overall, a very peaceful calm in the middle of Baoding.

The place where the old Govenor of Baoding offices was in the past. Not too big but very nice to see.

You dive into a totally different world in the middle of Baoding. Outside the park the daily riot is going on (horrible traffic, yelling people that advertise whatever, or even this awful speaker advertisements that repeat a view words again and again and again). As soon as you enter: silence, no people (just a few locals would pay to enter it). The park is not really big, but in July the lotus is in its full blossom. It's really like an escape into another world.

Went there in 2013. This place is a must visit place in Baoding. I can feel an extremely peaceful atmosphere the moment I entered the garden (beside the fact that it is located in central commercial district of Baoding). Personally I think it would be more beautiful if it's given more care on the water quality and cleanliness. Great for doing some photoshoots.

If you're visiting Baoding you MUST visit these gardens. I visited to do some filming for something I was working on and I've never seen anything like it. It has a very peaceful atmosphere to it and the lotuses were beautiful. I visited in June, but my friend who is from Baoding said July/August is the best time to visit to see the lotuses fully blossom. There is a lot of history to the gardens, which I wouldn't have even aware of if my friend wasn't with me.

Nice and quiet place in the center of old Baoding. Hopefully they will be able to improve the water quality so all Lotuses will be able to blossom again in the future.

Probably more pretty in the summer than in the autumn/winter but overall a nice historical place to visit with pretty scene to stroll and chill in the central of a busy commercial district
