We visited the Skywalk in a really good, sunny weather (27°C in the valley). At the Skywalk it was very windy and the temperature was chilly - touring boats, sweather and a coat did good. There is a small buffet downstairs and a restaurant upstairs - I recommend the restaurant. All in all it was worth the visit. Highly recommend... More

Although quite expensive the Skywalk at Dachstein is well worth a visit (unless of course you're petrified of heights!) - the ice palace, whilst impressive, a little less so. If you are lucky you may be one of the 1st few people onto the cable car which allows you to ride up (or down) on top of the cable car... More

The Ice palace, skywalk and suspension bridge is absolute fantastic. If you are up there, you realise how small our humankind is. The construction of Dachstein is just fantastic. This is a must to visit if you are in Austria.

The access is easy even though there was still snow lying a some depth there has been a wide pathway cleared. The cafe is very good, view is amazing. There was clouds on this visit which limited the distance of views, on a previous visit (October 2010) the snow was limited to the glacier and there was a clear view... More

We revisited Dachstein for the 2nd time in a little over a year. Its is still just as amazing and exhilarating each time we visit. First the drive from Filzmoos where we are staying is beautiful and I think the Austrian Alps are amazing. Then you arrive and buy your lift ticket to the top via cable car. Do the... More

Cool cable car ride to the top. In the Middle Station choose the Ice Cave guided tour to the, well, gorgeous, gorgeous cave with stalactites, stalagmites, frozen waterfalls, scenic ice cravasses, alight in colourful spectacle. 500 steps to climb, wouldn't recommend for children under 5 or seniors that have to take extra care of their joints. For everyone else it... More

You can ride on the top of the cable car when going uphill, it's a good thrill! The facilities on top are really good. We got there fairly late, and the skywalk was just closing, but the attendant was nice enough to reopen it for us, so we were just the two of us walking the suspension bridge, which was... More

If you have more days, wait until the weather is cleen, the view will take your breath away. We had bright sunshine. Just before the bridge you can feed the crows, they will eat from your hand. The bridge and the skywalk itsn.t freightening at all, if you want to doit, see it, you will. It.s absolutelly safe. Enjoy

We have been to Dachstein several times and have discovered something new each time. This time we were able to ride on top of the cable car outside on the trip down which give a new perspective. Also this is our first time back since the building of the suspension bridge and the glass stairway to nowhere. This is an... More
