Amazing location for sunrise and sunset! Friends and families, locals and tourists all enjoy the view. It is worth the walk up. Make sure to bring a light to come back down after sunset.

We visited this place on an early afternoon, in low season, so it was a bit deserted, and the pathway a little difficult and risky, but maybe that's us being city youngsters, (especially my boyfriend, but who was breathless by the time we got there!). It is a breathtaking view, nonetheless.

amazing view, and great place to go meditate in the morning or see the sunset. Multiple paths going up from the beach or main road make it a nice 30 minute hike.

Super trail for any age and the sunset was spectacular! would have liked to have gone further to the absolute peak but seemed a bit dangerous with massive drops! Asking those returning it looked worse than it was. Lovely atmosphere and so much to see on the walk

Make sure to explore all the different paths, including the "fisherman's" trail, where you can find your own solitary view of the sunset. Great to wander around all over.

My husband and I walked from our hotel in Mazunte to watch the sunset 3 out of 4 nights. The views along the walk and at the end are gorgeous and were joined by at least 50-100 travelers sometimes playing musical instruments. Special way to end the day!

We walked this early in the morning because it is very exposed and can get real hot. Find the trail by starting at the cemetery and wear sunscreen. Or you can go down to the Playa Mermejita and then south and scramble up the trail from that end. The black sand on Mermejita is actually magnetite crystals.
