Found this place on the way home from a holiday to north Wales so didn't have the time to stay long. A great variety of trees and plants. The gorse and heather were in flower making the whole place colourful. Saw many birds including red kites. Plenty of parking and picnic tables. Fantastic scenery very peaceful.Pity we couldn't stay longer... More

We visited here on the last day of our family holiday to Wales! The weather was stunning and very warm. It is an absolute must if you enjoy peaceful walks, adventure and amazing views! Great to bring a picnic and take in the landscapes. Could explore for miles... If the weathers good! 5*

Lovely relaxing place. Warden friendly and helpful and yes we did see an otter at the waterfall! Honesty box for tea and coffee. Plenty of way marked walks.

Great views and walks/cycle routes. Visitor centre with cafe and plenty of outdoor seating. Wildlife is everywhere you look and it's a particularly great location to watch red kites - walk up to the top of the sighting area if you have time. Very beautiful and peaceful location.

Didn't know what to expect but it was absolutely fantastic, the walk round the reserve was stunning the scenery has the Wow factor, saw the Pied Flycatcher, Kites, Tree pipits, and the icing on the cake was the sound of the Cuckoo the whole time we we're on the reserve, a fantastic day will return.

A stunning nature reserve. This was a quick visit on my way home. I hoped to see Dipper and Pied Flycatcher from the hide over the stream. I was not disappointed. This is a stunning location for wildlife and walking

I visited Gilfach with two friends yesterday. Only found out about it from the Internet, and what a find. Local, and so delightful, if you enjoy peace, wildlife and beautiful scenery. A warm sunny day completed the perfection. A lovely rural setting, lots of information and a variety of walks. Really friendly staff and a great cup of coffee/tea. Saw... More

This is a beautiful place, even on a cold wet spring day such as we've just experienced. Normally very good for bird life but understandably they were hunkering down out of the wind and hail. We still enjoyed the walk though as did the dog who is welcome when on a lead...there are sheep after all.

This is such a hidden treasure. We had a good few hours here walking responsibly with our dog on a lead and enjoying the peace, the calm and the wonderful views and wildlife. The careful placing of seats was much appreciated as was the caring thought of the refreshments and honesty box for those in need when the centre is... More
