I was fortunate enough to visit this place in late November, 2019 with my sister and her husband. It was a wonderful experience although it would have been better had we known French. It was interesting to learn about what life was like for the early immigrants to Quebec and to be able to learn more family history. But, the best part was getting to know the lady who worked there and who spoke no English yet took her time to translate some things and actually guide us to where we would find a family from both sides of my fathers family. For instance, there was a church up the road that we got to visit that had stained glass windows depicting our family members. She also instructed us how to see the home of one of the immigrants in our family and the church that another one attended. Interesting and extremely helpful. We did see another little museum that was an offshoot there but although interesting, our hearts were with the main one. She said that they have fewer than 100 Americans to visit each year.

Very well documented museum concerning the history between France and North America. For anybody doing ancestral research this is a must visit. Manon and Viviane gave much of their time and effort to help us have a most wonderful visit. Merci beaucoup

Great museum with lots of resources to look for old family information. Proud to see all these old family names which populated the New World. Museum is very well laid out and covers much history. I would highly recommend this stop for any history buff in this area. Much of our Canadian history began here. I would love to go back.

If you are in the Perche region from the US or Canada, this is a good place to visit to get an overall view of this important 17th-century migration. But be prepared to read French as most of the exhibits are in that language only.

My wife and I went here, she enjoyed the Shopping Museum, it showed the history and evolution of the French shopping experience. It was very interesting looking at all the old artifacts. I enjoyed the French emigration to Canada museum. It was a good walk thru the history of the area, and why the people left. Including one of my ancestors. With using the computers and research material found at the end of the tour, we were able to find the village he was from, as well as the church he was married in.
