Absolutely magnificent! - I would give a rating of 7 if I could :p

For such a small ski station I must say I am more than impressed.
Went to ski for the day and putting aside the luck we had with the weather - Fresh powder, and sunshine.

I would like to congratulate the ski station for the logistics, the friendliness of the staff in the town and up in the clouds.

Let me get to the most important part of my review: The F&B outlet up near the slopes. Wow!
1. Staff were incredible! the restaurant was full to the brink, but yet they were extra friendly and served every customer as if this was their home.
2. Albeit us just having burgers, the freshness of the meat on that burger trumped anything you would find at ground level (and I live in Switzerland). And the fries.. the fries...the fries.. Yum!

Would definitely recommend!

Pretty grim
Mar 2019 • Couples
Just awful queues everywhere form the ticket desk to the cabin and even worse on the chairs.
Pistes in poor condition and too many idiots flying around the slopes dangerously.
No style or class in the resort, fish and chips available in a number of restaurants - perhaps reflects the type of visitors here.

Great snow when we arrived. Excellent weather but snow thawing in the village and lower slopes. Queue’s at the lifts generally ok but a few longer ones on 6th March due to lifts to Flaine to being closed.
Fantastic village, Les Carroz.
Excellent help and service from Silvan at Ski 2000. The place to hire your equipment or buy. Boot fitting excellent, top of the range technology.
Good choice of restaurants and bars.

First time skiing here and I can't wait to come back. Great selection of runs for all abilities and all types of skiers. Such a large area to explore and done very long runs that really test the endurance. We went late Feb/early March and there was lots of good snow at all levels. Had to queue for around 10 mins when we arrived at 9.00am as the ski school were given priority.
My abiding memory is the quality of the runs and the length of the lifts that allow for skiing rather than sitting in lifts.

The food and drink options on the slopes are good quality and a reasonable price.

Not a great ski village but does give access to Flaine
Feb 2019 • Family
I travelled with family 2nd week Feb. It was packed. Only one lift out of Les Carroz with a one hour queue every morning. Similar story for any lift on route to Flaine. Once in Flaine the ski area was great but it's a long trek every morning. Unfortunately the lower slopes of the Grand Massif ski area including Les Carroz are too crowded to be enjoyable. There isn't much Apres Ski in Les Carroz. One small bar near the ski lift. There are bars and restaurants in the village but a bus is required to get there. Pity the area around the lift hasn't been developed.

Queues not to die for, but possibly to die in.

Les Carroz, Morillon and Samoens are all well linked into the better known and higher Flaine ski area; on paper. Each of these three resorts has a modern 6 seat high speed chair giving access to the hill above from where you can ski down into the valley between them and Flaine. Sounds great... The problem is that from that valley there is a just one 6 seat old and slow chairlift to get you to the top of the hill above Flaine. Do the math. We spent 30 minutes (yes, three zero) in the queue for that lift (the Vernant) one morning this week. Useless trying to get to Flaine before lunchtime. Be aware.

Long runs
Feb 2019 • Couples
We visited during English and French school half terms which meant at times the wait for lifts and gondolas was long. But the long runs and vast number of them made them worth it.

What a queue!!!
Feb 2019 • Family
What a shame Carroz has taken out the chair lift, I sincerely hope they are regretting this decision. We have been going to Carroz for a number of years and always praised the fact that it was not a long wait to get up the mountain, having gone to Samoens a couple of times we always dreaded the long queue in a morning as there is only one gondola lift, having two at Carroz was a bonus, not any more!!!
Having two children in ski school for 09.00 am we were lucky to be at the top of the gondola for about 09.45, the queue's were massive and I mean massive with no real queuing structure, people pushing their way in wherever they felt like it, once in the middle of this huge crowd of people it was easy to feel claustrophobic. Such a shame because the resort and piste's are amazing here once you can access them. I expect that it may be better out of school holidays, unfortunately this is when we have to go. I think Carroz may lose some of it's regulars following this. Such a shame

Horrific morning queues
Feb 2019 • Family
I’ve been coming for over30 years and love Les Carroz. The skiing is great once you can get up the mountain. There is a new ride by the Télécabine which is great fun but the demolition of the old chair lift means the morning queues (Feb school holidays) are horrific. If you want to be up the mountain early you need to arrive 25 minutes before the lift opens. If you are dropping kids at ski school for 8:50 then you won’t be on the Télécabine at the bottom until 9:30 or later. Really sad as lift queues elsewhere on the mountain are not bad at all for a peak week. I’ve heard lots of people saying they won’t come back.
