The beach was hot in August, so we went in the morning and the early evening to avoid the midday heat. We enjoyed many pleasant swims.

The good bits are lovely it’s a lovely beach .. the best place to eat are Le Caliente Beach Club closely followed by L’Aquarium ( now that the miserable woman owner had sold it to someone else ). The Fanprix supermarket in the port is a joke .. they run out of basic stuff like chicken, burgers , wine , potatoes and don’t restock for another week .. the fruit is always rock hard ..there’s only ever one person on checkout who does everything with the other staff milling about around the store Having said that the fish counter out the front is daily absolutely outstanding and the guy knows his fish. The ice cream place pic po has been there forever and is superb.... and if you fancy an early heart attack do have the amazing Irish Coffee at Le Bateau Ivre on the corner of the port .. it’s the best and strongest I’ve ever had anywhere ! There’s a lovely guy and his wife who do cooked chickens , rabbit and all kinds of ready cooked meat half way up the beach towards the petrol station..

Saint Cyprien Plage is a seaside resort. It has a long promenade and a beach with regular wave breaks. The sea here is quite strong, hence the break walls to prevent beach erosion. Under the water line the land drops away quite suddenly and those with children need to be careful. Although there are lots of people on the beach here in October there is hardly anyone in the sea. In the streets behind the sea front you’ll find a area restaurants, bars, fast food shacks and shops which are closing up now, but in the summer I can imagine would be bustling with tourists and locals alike. The picture was taken on the promenade.
