The one hour cruise on the Dordogne, takes place on a reproduction of an ancient river barge, Just this one is motor powered. There is a retractable shade if the sun gets too hot. At any rate, the road along the river is basically right at...More

My husband and I took a gabare while visiting the Dordogne region. We were offered headsets so we could follow the commentary in English, if the French was confusing. The French portion was also taped, but broadcast over a speaker. The ride was smooth, and...More

Enchanted river. We came to view this place at the end of summer. So there were not too many visitors. This helped us to enjoy the river the birds and autumn red leafs. We had a nice cup of coffee and loved every moment.

Don’t do this if you only speak English. The Guide talks and jokes throughout in French but the English tape given to English speakers is on only 25% of the time. It was disappointing and frustrating. I was sorry I went.

Lovely boat trip on he river, 55 minutes in duration, as reported, expensive. The main issue was that the commentary was on earphones, while a very animated man spoke over a loudspeaker in French. This made the quiet English commentary very difficult to follow. I...More

We were staying in La Roque so this seemed like a nice way to familiarise ourselves with the Dordogne river and surrounding area. It was a very hot day but the boat has screens which provide shade, and are retracted at certain points to take...More

We were not told there was a cometary in English and were not given head phones so we sat through a long, none stop tour in French , we speak a little French but could not make much sence of what's being said and this...More

This one hour trip filled in some spare time running upto lunch. The English commentary units cost an additional 0.5 Euros but were worth it and worked reasonably well. Seeing the town and its rocky backdrop from the river gave it a new perspective. The...More

This is a 45 min trip on a replica of the boats that used to be used for ferrying cargo on the Dordogne river. There is a French speaking guide on board but you can pay a small amount for headphones for an English translation....More
