Although the museum was closed at lunch time we did wander inside the old building. The grounds are quite interesting.

The museum provides a glimpse into the past of Tracadie-Sheila, in particular how leprosy affected their community (beginning in the late 1800's) and how people with the disease were cared for here. It was interesting to learn the theories about how the disease arrived in the area, and how treatment evolved over time. A lazaretto was built, and a group... More
