We spent four days at the beach. The sand is white and powder soft. The water is a beautiful green. The waves are calm. It’s an ideal beach if you have babies/toddlers. You can watch dolphins from your beach chair! I didn’t see one lifeguard the entire 4 days, that includes walking up and down the beach. There are a few benches to sit on. Beware of birds! Seagulls and other birds are all over the beach. They’re very loud and annoying. Maybe it’s not uncommon for so many birds to be crowding the beach this time of year?

This is a lovely beach off the beaten path from St. Pete. Every day we’ve come it’s far from crowded. Lot of cute seabirds to watch, there is even a free bird sanctuary along the beach. Businesses are all a couple block from the beach, not right on it.

I visited this past week with some friends. There are plenty of public access points even with private properties and resorts being on the beach, which was useful for us and those staying across the street. The sand was beautiful, the beach was clean, and the water was pretty. We even saw dolphins off the shore and some stingrays swimming near the edge of the water. There were some areas that were more crowded with people, but plenty that were not. Not much shelling or seaglass.

This beach is relatively quiet for the area. The water isn’t as calm as Siesta Key, but it’s a beautiful beach. If you’re coming during covid times it’s very easy to distance here.

This beach access is right next to the road and makes it very easy to get to the beach. It is a very short walk.

We arrived later in the day to enjoy a few hours of the sun and surf. This beach area was one of the best we've been to. The parking lot is rather large and depending on the time of day would be the ease of obtaining a spot. We drove right in at 4 pm. Very clean bathrooms are right at the beach access point. A place to shower off the sand as well.
The beach itself is white sugary sand. Very clean. Even at the tail end of a perfect beach Saturday.

A favorite of locals. Nice shelling and a beautiful walk on the shore. Not as busy as Clearwater and mostly locals. Beach access for free every block.

Very disappointed in the area. The water is not clear and the beaches are dirty. From what I understand, the beaches are not cleaned this time of year due to turtle nests so I totally understand why. There really isn't much to do here and nothing seems convenient to get to. A huge disappointment! I would never come back to this part of Florida, I'll stick to the pan handle.
Neighborhood seems to be a mix of older houses next to high rises and to be honest, no one seems to be friendly at all. I'll take my tourist money some where else

The beach was clean with lots of people walking along the water. There were people fishing so we stopped to talk to them - very friendly.
The beach has a lot of cut through spots to Gulf Blvd. which is nice.
Public parking and bathrooms are available.

Is there places to rent umbrellas on Redington Shores beach. What do they cost.
Written May 2, 2021
is there shade on Redington Shores Beach or are you allowed to bring umbrellas onto the beach?
Written February 6, 2020
I see people bring umbrellas all the time. No, there is not any shade out on the beach, but there are places in the area where you can find shade.

Do this beach have alot of rocks in the water?” are they alot of seaweed there? How clear/blue is the water?
Written August 27, 2018
When we visited this beach in May, it was all pretty clean and clear over there, no seaweeds (you can see it on the photos). But it all may depend on the season, the tides, etc. If you read the latest reviews, there's more info about the area.

Hi all! Can't wait for our first trip to FL as a family! I reserved a room at the Dolphin Beach Resort in St. Pete's and then discovered a place via VRBO in Redington, and this beach looks great too! Are there nearby restaurants etc.? Which beach would you pick? Thank you!

Reddington my friend for sure. Everything is a walk away or they have a bus that runs along gulf to bay about every 30 min so you can go anywhere along the beach. find a beach access with street parking if you want to get away from the crowds. you can go to clearwater beach on the bus from reddington in just 15 min or so. Also a cool mini golf course in the same area. great to play around after a few cocktails and if you have kids they will love it. Johns pass is also nearby if you want to rent jet skis or a boat or charter, those folks will drop the rate if you ask and they are not busy.

Does anyone have a recommendation on a fishing charter anywhere from Clearwater to Johns Pass
Written January 28, 2018
yes, go to Johns pass and you can talk the small operations down on the cost of your day. They don't mind, they would rather you get a good deal with them than you go to clearwater. If you like big crowds, to much drinking go to clearwater. More mellow and civil crowd towards Johns pass area.

No, they do not allow dogs. That's the bad news. The good news is that there is a wonderful beach park that has its own dog beach 20 miles south of Redington Shores. It is a Pinellas County park called Fort DeSoto Park. It has a $5 parking fee + there are 2 toll road/bridges on the route. Great scenary along the way also. Check it out, spend the day, the pooch would love it!
