We did 3 nights on the island glamping. Amazing sunrises and red moon rises!
The glamping is simple but the views are beautiful. One tip: bring lots of wet wipes. The food was delicious.
We had 2 days in the bay and saw so many whales. We got to pet many whales who were curious and would come up to the boat to greet us. It’s incredible that these huge wild animals come up and are interested in humans and want interactions.
Marco and Liz were great and so much fun. They love what they do.
If you have a chance to do this tour do not hesitate. I will never forget this experience.

I went with Tavo to swim with stripped marlin. To begin with I wasnt expecting the color of the water, so blue you would get lost in it.
then out of no where, hundreds of birds plunging into the water, from the outside i just couldn't imagine what was underneath, the concert of animals living, feeding, it was amazing!!
we saw at least 20 marlins in the first snorkel.
I totally recommend this to anyone interested in a thrilling adventure, in sealife and in experience a once in a lifetime experience.

We wish we could give MagBay Expeditions 10 stars, plus exclamation marks. It is an expedition in every sense of the word: you travel to a remote site, you search for nature’s wonders and you leave awed and transformed by your experiences. So yes, it hits the bulls eye for expedition, but what makes MagBay Expeditions truly special is the staff’s commitment to service combined with an enthusiastic attention to detail: it was clear from the first moment that us having an exceptional experience was their sole focus. Our overall experience was so mind blowing that we challenged the trip planner of our dive family to find another trip to match the wonder of this expedition – good luck to him! In a way, we hate to post this review, because we fear that this remote, untouched bit of the world will ruined by hordes of tourists who don’t understand or appreciate what it’s all about. So, we’ll close with a piece of advice: if you are looking for sophisticated, five-star venues; if you feel the need to travel with multiple suitcases filled with expensive clothes and jewelry; if your idea of a vacation is to sit by a pool, then MagBay Expeditions is not for you. However, if you are obsessed with nature’s wonders and experiencing them in their natural habitats, and if you have an adventurous spirit and are not afraid of the unknown, then book your MagBay Expedition.

The good:
1. Well organized, only accommodation ON the island with HOT WATER SHOWERS
2. Has some of the best boat captains (this matters alot on adventure expeditions)
3. Excellent communication, and value for the money
The medium:
1. It's the ocean- some days you can see less
2. Quality of the group and other travelers can determine your experience (we had an excellent group from 1 first timer to 2 expert free divers and we made it work)
3. Don't expect huge variety with food, but they can accommodate vegans and vegetarians
The bad:
1. This is tough, as there was really any- BUT, it was colder than anticipated, the island has jurassic park mosquitos, and the rooms need lamps.
Trip of a life time to see marlins, sardin bateballs, swim with humpback whales, sea lions, hundreds of dolphins, and mobula rays in schools of 500! This company is very well organized, efficient and they have the best guides and captions for an ocean expedition.
***the only company you can stay ON the island with IN A HOUSE! (Important- this saves you an extra 2 hours in the boat each day)

My personal experience…. I can say this was definitely the best vacation in my life! I’m so happy I joined in for this adventure! Swimming with beautiful amazing creatures in open waters was the beginning of great memories. Always felt safe and well guided. The guides Sergio, Marco, the captain Tavo and the chef David really went beyond everything to ensure we would have a great time doing amazing things! Besides swimming among hundreds of Dolphins, Marlins, Seals, Mahi-Mahi, and Rays we got to go to the Dunes to surf in the sand just like when we were young. We enjoyed great meals that included fresh fish, shrimp, and lobster. They all treated us so well (including the island fishermen). I definitely made new friends and the family grew! I want to thank the owner Sabina for reminding me the beauty of life. I highly recommend everyone to try this adventure no matter your age. Also, be ready to see whales and swim with Orcas and Sharks, everything is possible. Remember… only few people get such blessings!

Mag Bay expeditions was a trip of a lifetime! Truly, it was beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of! Sabina, Tavo, and the team are so knowledgeable and confident in their field of expertise. I felt comfortable being merely a few feet away from some amazingly beautiful creatures. I got to swim with whales, hundreds of dolphins, sea turtles, sea lions, marlins, mahi mahi, an amazing kelp forest, the list goes on! Tavo, the captain of the boat knows the water like no other and was able to guide us to some amazing sea life. Sabi and Marco were amazing guides in the water as we snorkeled around all the sea life. And David, our own person chef was astounding! He made breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner every day. We didn’t have to worry about food for one second. The house we stayed in was 4 bedrooms, each with its own bath making it very comfortable accommodations.
A typical day in Mag Bay was wake up to breakfast around 7am, get on the boat around 8am, enjoy the Pacific Ocean while we snorkeled with all the sea life, get back with snacks waiting, dinner around 6, then we made fires, played music, we could paddle board in the bay. One of the days, we took a trip to the sand dunes (that goes on for miles and feeds all the micro plankton in the ocean) and the mangroves! Truly, a trip I will cherish forever.

This question is for guests in 2022. Has anyone driven in a rental car from Cabo to Mag Bay in 2022? If so, did you feel safe? Any problems/dangers?

Hello, the highway is safe; there are a lot of tourists, and I haven't heard of any issues with any people.
