What a view as Mount Cook rises at the end of the lake. Glacial clear lake which stretches for miles. Stunning.

Wonderfully stunning lake. Beautiful blue water and stunning sceneries. Plus a Lord of the rings filmset.

While driving to Mt Cook village we ended up stopping almost every 10 minutes to take pictures. The scenery is always changing when you come around a new corner. Even in bad weather the mountains look astonishing. Definitely stop at the visitor center at the...More

The first views of the lake on the way from Lake Tekapo is the sightseeing spot where route 8 reaches the bank of the lake just before the visitor's centre. The visitor's centre is another great spot for views of the lake nd Mt Cook...More

Lovely blue water on the way to Mount Cook. Very large lake with lots to do if you have the time. Water sports abound.

Really loved Lake Pukaki (which is prettier than its more well-known neighbour Lake Tekapo and less tourists). The colour of the lake is a milky aquamarine, like someone has poured milk into a crystal blue lake. Driving to Mount Cook is a delight as you...More

My husband, daughter and I fell in love with Lake Pukaki! The beauty of this visually-stunning, turquoise, limpid, glacial lake is enhanced by the splendour of the surrounding snow-capped Southern Alps - or perhaps it is the other way round? No matter, the scenery is...More
