Nice and well done cellar/cave and place. Tasting set proposed is well adapted and allow you to discover 6 wines from the most dry to the sweetest. We had the opportunity to visit cave and cellar, very kind. We bought 10 bottles and owner offered us the tasting set fro free as well as a discount as we purchased 180 euros wine. They speak english which is a positive point as well for foreigners. Sole remark is that they gave us first wine to taste with corky taste, means they did not try it before giving to customers as some others were here and did not say anything. They exchanged it after telling them that taste was nok.

My husband and I attended the wine tasting at Himesudvar. Directly from the source, Peter, the winemaker and owner, carefully explained to us the characteristics of the grape varieties and the sweet winemaking process during the tasting. He is approachable and speaks good English. We even got a chance to visit the cellar. It was well organised and interesting. This trip has deepened my understanding of the history, people, and effort behind different types of sweet wine. I personally love their sweet wine selection, which is well balanced with a perfect amount of sweetness and acidity. Their wine is only available at the cellar door, run fast!

We had a great time visiting Himesudvar with customizable wine list and delicious cheese plates. The Cellar tour is informative and had the chance to ask all the details we wanted, altough I must add that one of the staff member is not quiet the same enthusiast as the rest and when the clock hit 18:00 we've been kicked out immediately. I suggest if you are working in hospitality/tourism you should consider staying a few extra minutes when the customer is choosing which wine he would like to buy.

Thank you for the review – we’re glad that you enjoyed your time spent here. Due to a lack of employees and time efficiency, we strive to be punctual regarding our opening hours. We work after hours on many days when guests wish to stay longer or they happened to arrive later than they expected. We’re sorry that during your visit, we turned out to be more strict than usual. We hope to see you again in the near future. Hímesudvar staff

The gf found this place online - so we tried it on a whim. Beautiful garden patio where we tried a variety of dry to sweet wines. Very fruity and complex. Also served some delicious plates of grape leaf rolls and cheese plates. Ended up purchasing six bottles of wine by the end of the visit. got a tour of the wine cellar. Definitely a memorable experience.

We were expecting for the wine tasting to take place in the cellar, but instead it was inside the bar.. Poor food choices along the wine. The wine is good, though.

Thank you for your feedback – we’re happy that you enjoyed our wine! The tasting is performed in the cellar for larger groups only – which is stated on our winelist – but the process of winemaking can naturally be shown to every guest in form of a short walk down and through the cellar area. Our business emphasies wine and winemaking and unfortunately we don’t have the capacity to produce a wider array of food choices mainly due to being located in a 500 year old building. We await your next arrival soon! Hímesudvar staff
