Local Treasure House

This small museum of local history and culture is well worth the 800 Ft admission fee. Interesting artifacts and art work are displayed in an intimate setting that was once the home of a Greek wine merchant.

Interesting Museum in a Greek Wine Merchants House.

The house is restored as it might have been when the merchants had lived here. There is an interesting display of hand crafts on the top floor. The wine cellar display is rather disappointing.

A much overrated place.

Forget this place! You don't get what you hope for for your hard-earned cash. A small exhibition which is cheap but still a waste of time.

The nuseum is settled in a beautiful old 18. century house, growing from a private collection of folk art, ikones, glasses and other objects.

Climb up to the attic!!!
May 2017 • Family
Very tiny museum - but what a collection in the attic. No wonder they're calling it a trasure attic showcasing the Hungarian life in early-to late XIX-XX century. There is a wine cellar as well within the museum, so take a cardigan...

huge place behind a small gate

When we visited Tokaj for 3 days, wanted to see the museums and other attractions as well. Well, the area is not too rich with attractions except wineries and cellars, shops, but luckily we sound this museum. The building seems very small outside, and after we started to look around we have been told to go further and upstairs and down to the basement, etc, so what we expected to see within an hour, became a 3-4 hour museum visit. The lady was there very competent, and she gave us so many information about the exhibitions and the history of the region and town. It is a very rich little museum if I compare with others in other small towns. With one combined ticket we can also visit the world heritage wine museum, so worth to have it. I can highly recommend this place to those spend some time in the city.
