About
Around 100 of our over 150 old pedal/reed organs are on display and can be played to your heart's content, or just look and learn, or listen and sing, etc. We live in the building so are usually at home to show you around, but if you want to be sure, ring or e-mail ahead of time for an appointment. Will be a never-to-be-forgotten experience.

We had a wonderful time at the Woodville Reed Organ Museum. I phoned Rosalie beforehand to check they were open to visitors, and she was very helpful, welcoming, and friendly. When we arrived, we were given a free tour of the collection by organ collector extraordinaire Milton, who shared so many wonderful stories and facts about each instrument with us. A particular highlight was being permitted (and encouraged) to play any of the organs we wished to play - music was even provided for this! Highly recommended to all musicians, music lovers, and anyone interested in history and fascinating stories.

The reed organ museum at Woodville is a gem. Not only is it packed with the most amazing organs, the owners have a story about them all. The visit was most fascinating, and it was a privilege to play some of them.

If you're passionate about music, particularly hymns, then this is a must see experience. The owners live on site, and are two of the loveliest people you'll ever meet. The collection ranges from tiny portable instruments all the way up to incredible massive organs, and you can play them all. I spent over an hour there with my tolerant wife and only played on 4 or 5... I'm definitely coming back with my own hymn book to visit again.

If you are heading to Woodville or just passing through, you simply must stop and visit the reed organ museum. For the music and/or history buff It is an absolute wonderland, full to bursting with unique and rare reed organs. Hosts, Rosalie and Milton Wainright, generously share their knowledge and are fountains of information regarding their own collection of organs and the history of organs in general. We reluctantly had to cut our visit short, but will be returning, probably more than once!

Our NZ friends found this museum which I wondered about as I normally play pipe organs. The wonderful welcoming of Rosalie and Milton made us at ease and we were soon trying out this amazing collection.
Having a lot of suitable music around helped out the sounds of the organs into context and we returned after lunch to continue this great experience.

Enjoyed playing some of the antique reed organs in the museum, So many to choose from. The place was bursting at the seams with old reed organs from a bygone era, some as old as 1890.
