Love this town and beach. Best in off season. The beach is great. The only drawback for me is the roads getting to it. A bit scary if you aren’t use to windy roads.

I stopped off here for the first time in about 25 years on my way home from Whitianga and loved it. Huge expanse of white sand, very large beach, beautifully coloured waves and just an air of kiwi summer about the place - love it....More

I love Whangamata beach. It is beautiful to go for a stroll. When the weather is good it is nice to go for a swim.

Lovely setting , looking out over the islands and almost perfect waves for surfing , enjoyed a cuppachino sitting on the seats along the sand dunes.

We have visited on and off for 30 years and a walk on this beach in the rain or the sun is remarkable.

The best beach resort on the Coromandel Peninsula - by far. Voted best of 2018 up against some stiff competition.

Sorry for the delay. 10 to 15 minutes along the beach. Nice flat walk easier at low tide of course
