This is the nicest beach and has a stunning views of the castle and priory. It is a long beach and is very clean and very popular. There are two cafes and lots of other attractions like the blue reef aquarium in the surrounding area.

Large beach, very clean and safe to swim. Dogs allowed on part of it all year round. Two cafes and a surf school and life guards often present. Plenty of parking nearby

Along Longsands Beach. Did a wander around Collingwood monument, strolled around Tynemouth, then headed to Cullercoats. A wonderful walk, we were luck with blue skies and sunshine. A pleasant breeze, and lots of people and their dogs. So enjoyed, been a few years, well worth the energy.

We began our walk at Crusoe's cafe and went to the castle and priory, the high street and back to the church, alongside Long Sands Beach. It was a sunny day so the beach was reasonably busy with families, walkers, surfers and the like. You can walk the beach either on it or as we did, along the promenade, looking... More

Visit every year from Glasgow. We always find Tynemouth beach to be one of the cleanest beaches that we visit.Walking from one end to the other ,you forget the time especially first thing in the morning,it is just so peaceful.

A superb sandy beach with good sea bathing. The water used to be very dirty due to the river nearby but now the Tyne has been cleaned up it is perfectly clean. At low tide you might find cowrie shells. You could not wish for a better beach than this. If it was in the south of England you would... More

Lovely, long, clean beach which is great for families and surfers alike. I regularly walk this stretch of coastline and beach. Its fresh sea air invigorates you and when the tide is out the beach is expansive with lots of opportunity for having fun with the kids, keeping fit or just relaxing at the cafe with a tea or coffee.... Loved it around here, loved the beach and will definitely have it on the cards for a return trip sometime in the not too distant future.

This beach is just beautiful. By the time you walk from one end to the other you are unaware of the time because the setting is so gorgeous.
