A beautiful long and wide stretch of Blue Flag awarded beach. Suitable for all, but mainly used by joggers and dog walkers (restricted to part of the beach in summer). Easily accessible via a ramp either end. The beach also plays host to Crusoe's coffee shop at one end and The View restaurant at the other. Lots of places to... More

If you love the beach and a nice walk this is a great one to visit! Its windy though so make sure to wrap up! Lovely for couples and even going solo, great place to getaway and think. A nice long walk to the lighthouse if you're up for it, otherwise just along the main part closer to the Priory.... More

Tynemouth Long Sands beach is a mile long stretch of beautiful Blue Flag golden sands, very clean and popular but rarely overcrowded. It is a popular spot for surfing, with lessons and board hire available. There are restrictions on dogs during the summer months and a seasonal life guard service. Take a short stroll from the beach to the lovely village... More

This is a beautiful stretch of beach, popular today with surfers making the most of the waves & optimising the fantastic weather, families playing in the sand & flying kites, people walking their dogs, very clean albeit a little rugged in places but a beautiful spot to bring children & enjoy a day at the coast with a picnic or... Longsands has parking at either end and a cafe and toilets at each end as well. It's a very busy Beach, especially popular with dog walkers, although they are restricted to half the beach between May and October. There is good sand to walk on, rocks to explore and beautiful views. It's a wonderful beach

A great sandy beach, with plenty of room. At low tide, there is a reef that gets exposed at the North end of the beach. It was good fun bolder hopping along it. Keep an eye on the tide coming in though. Apparently there are really good waves for surfing here too. I didn't see any during my 3 day... More

Have spent a fantastic week in tynemouth and has prompted me to write some reviews for this beautiful town. The beach is beautiful and clean and with a coffee shop either end of the beach it is pretty much perfect. The weather wasn't great but that didn't stop it from being an amazing visit. We can no wait to return.

Beautiful place to go for a walk, or take your dogs. You should try surfing here if you fancy a sport day!
