Close to very dense urban development and yet this little sandy bay is so pretty and natural. Free car parking is available close by and families will love the safe, clean, golden sands. Other attractions are neaby such as the castle, pier and Tyne riverside promenade.

This is a lovely clean, sandy beach in a bay. It is perfect for families but it was very busy on the hot Sunday when we visited. Snacks and ice-creams are available nearby! There is parking nearby but very busy in weekends and nice days.

What a beautiful bay with amazing beaches in the nice town of Tynemouth. We visited on a hot day & it was so nice to see families on the beach. Parking was plentiful even on a busy day. Loved our walk along the headland.

Absolutely brilliant day out. Great friendly community. Plenty of areas to eat and buy fish and chips. Gets busier as the day goes on. Lovely views and great areas to walk. Free parking.

A beautiful beach situated close to the River Tyne on the north side. Easily accessed from Tynemouth centre and lies in the shadow of the Priory ruins.
It’s a fabulous beach, long and shallow and very safe. Access is by lots of stairs so be prepared!

I've been coming here for decades and love the beach especially on hot days out. Its perfect for picnic, family days out or just chilling. Plenty of places to find your own little patch and relax. One of the beaches here with Long Sands and Cullercoats beaches.

This Bay has a lovely horseshoe beach situated at the foot of the cliffs with the imposing priory on top. It is a sheltered spot, ideal for sunbathing and swimming. Lots of pubs, cafes etc in the nearby town centre.
