This has to be the nicest course I've played. It's like playing in Jurassic Park the way it's cut in to the hillside. We were ona works trip and played xmcourses A and B but had to be back to go dolphin watching in the afternoon so made excuses that we couldn't get back in time so we could play course C which was my favourite of the 3. The hospitality they showed us was tremendous and it's a very fair price. Buggies were definitely needed.

This course of 27 holes will test every aspect of your game, very challenging and a great game improver, set in beautiful surroundings. Make sure you're fit and strong if pulling a non motorised trolley as it can be quite tiring, or hire a buggy. The course has great facilities to cater for every golfers needs.

As a single digit golfer from northern Europe I don’t often get to play in the winter, so every opportunity is welcome and this course and the surroundings were beautiful. The course it self is a test for any golfer and not having played for three months and with a rented set it did not get easier. That said, it was worth every cent and I highly recommend it to anyone.
For 93 Euro I rented a set of clubs, got a buggy and 18 holes of golf. This was an offer that was expired, but the friendly staff offered it and I was grateful. The set was a nice Titleist AP2 with SW, 909 D2 driver and similar wood and hybrid.
The clubhouse is big and has everything. Locker room with showers, nice shop and a large quite good restaurant.
Observe dresscode, but they are not as strict as they sound. I had no spikes and played in beige cargo pants

Guaranteed a special price, when I booked our tee times over email, two months prior to arrival, then switched the price from 111 EUR to 120 EUR, per player, when we arrived at the course to play. Refused to honor the quoted price.

Charged 40 EUR per set of rental clubs. It was rainy weather and they did not offer bag towels, umbrellas, club covers, or club cleaning brushes. When I insisted on these items, we were given old broken items.
The clubs were old circa 1990 clubs, with slippery hardened rubber grips. My set didn't even have a 3 or 5 metal club. Be happy you got a driver!

It doesn't matter what the course is like, when you get this kind of horrible and dishonest service, it just leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth.
It's so disappointing, as all our other experiences, on the island, were wonderful.

We played 18 hotles. We are golf nuts. We rented everything. We bought balls and tees. They have 3 nines. Course C was in terrible shape. Course A was beautiful. If you like golf, this was a fun thing to do. Watch for green fee specials.

I was fortunate enough to have the course to myself...because it rained ala Caddyshack movie. Nevertheless I persevered. Gorgeous scenery, fairways were open. There were a few holes heading down a hill which was incredible. Definitely play once.

My wife and I play golf here every year and have done so for over 20 years. We love the 27 holes and each time we play there are more memories made. The staff are so friendly we are always made to feel very welcome.

This is a great and challenging 27 hole golf course about 15 minutes outside the city.
Beautiful views of the ocean but can be windy.
Golf is 62e and carts are 40 e but packages are available.
Great courses. Can’t wait to return.

My partner and I were on Sao Miguel for 2 weeks in mid-November 2023 and played both courses, which cannot be compared and yet are both fascinating in their own way. Batalha is definitely the longer golf course and has 27 holes, of which we unfortunately could not play the C course because it was under construction. On Course A we had wonderful views of the sea. A dream. Course B was much hillier than A, but also very beautiful. Playing in mild 20 degrees with palm trees in November. The course was well maintained and the staff at the golf course were extremely accommodating and friendly. We had bought a 5-hole card and paid around €62 for 18 holes with a trolley and did not need a tee time. We had not rented clubs because we always bring our own clubs. At this time of year, the clubhouse only had drinks and sweets because it was already low season. But that did not bother us. Often after 9 holes there would be a small but heavy rain shower and we would quickly drink a cappuccino and then carry on playing.
