A 20 km. da Perugia nella frazione di Spina, il Castello della Spina, in Piazza Polimanti, antico più di 850 anni, si presenta con un imponente torrione in un lato mentre in un altro lato presenta una torre dimezzata con accanto l'accesso principale costituito da un grande arco, in definitiva è una tipica costruzione medievale, costituita da un rettangolo con spesse Mura con agli angoli solide e imponenti Torri, il tutto, sicuramente a suo tempo, circondato dal tipico fossato.
Caratteristico dell'epoca l'interno costituito da viuzze ombrose che si insinuano tra le case.

Un castello ricco di storia e storie. Strutturalmente armonico, piacevole da visitare tutto. E' bellissimo cercare nelle mura simboli antichi scolpiti nei mattoni, ammirare i piccoli terrazzi e ponti in alto sulle abitazioni ed immaginare la vita e le battaglie per difendere il paese. All'interno del Castello è da vedere la chiesa di San Nicolò. Viva la RIDENTE Spina e VIVA San Faustino!

Durante una gita in vespa ci siamo fermati in questo magico borgo in ristrutturazione. I lavori sono ancora in divenire ma sono sicura che una volta completati saranno favolosi. Complimenti per il grandioso lavoro svolto.

Il Castello di Spina mantiene intatte, al suo interno, le caratteristiche tipiche delle strutture medievali e oggi ospita una delle antenne del Museo Dinamico del Laterizio e delle Terrecotte di Marsciano.
