Okay for a Chinese city museum

Changzhou's got a lot of history. This museum has some of that. It's a nice way to spend a couple of hours and learn a bit about the things Changzhou takes pride in, and it's free. The gift shop is also one of the better ones in town if you need to buy presents for people.

Good museum with free admission

We only had time to visit the Changzhou cultural history exhibit on the second floor.

Good to know:
- There is enough English text in the museum for English-only speakers to enjoy it.
- ID is required for admission. We didn't have our passports with us, so they were willing to accept our passport numbers instead.
- Admission is free.
- There are three floors of exhibits: a special temporary exhibit, a cultural history exhibit, and a natural history exhibit.

The area near the museum is also pleasant with water, trees, and flowers.

museum was ok, Changzhou planning display was far more interesting

The Museum has 2 areas, the actual museum door right and the Changzhou city development door left. Both exhibitions were free. This building is open all days except on Monday.

The museum was quite small and display comments were predominantly in Mandarin. The museum covers 3 floors and this part of of the building I moved through petty quickly as it was fairly basic.

I did actually enjoy the display and the focus for development of the city of Changzhou. This display covers 4 floors in the building and was more interesting to me.

The actual museum is a very modern building and the area nearby is worth visiting to simply walk around. Nearby appears to be government offices and the main sports stadium is close to the museum.

Nice local museum

I went to the Changzhou Museum with a friend from the city. The building felt new, and the exhibits were all very interesting. There were all sorts of different artifacts from all different periods of China. It was really interesting seeing Changzhou's development from its ancient past to its present. A quick hour or two would really help give an introduction to the history and culture of this city.

Wonderful introduction to Chinese Cultural History

The Changzhou Museum is a world class museum which covers the development of civilisation in the Changzhou region. Exhibits are well presented with text in both Mandarin and English to a lesser extent. It was enlightening to see the respect and appreciated demonstrated towards the artisans, artists, poets and authors of the local region.
Do not feel disappointed if you miss the wildlife displays on the upper floor. I far prefer a zoo to a collection of "stuffed" animals and insects.

I went to this museum right after visiting the Yancheng ancient site. I really enjoyed learning more about the ancient city in the museum, the displays were really helpful in understanding what I'd seen.

I think overall this was a very nicely done museum. There were quite a few displays with English (though not all) and even if I couldn't read the placard, the artifacts were really cool!

The design of the museum is pretty impressive in and of itself. I was surprised that it was so fancy!

Nice and small!

Free entry! This is a well-kept museum and has interesting exhibits. The Natural History museum part has some great displays and most signs have English too.

It shouldn't take you more than 2 hours, if that.

It's FREE

The exhibits were nice but they were mostly in Chinese. Also I couldn't really tell if taking photos were allowed because they didn't really have "no photos" signs in strategic places like at the entrance. I did see signs placed near exhibits but it wasn't clear if it was just for THAT exhibit or if it was for the entire museum.

The best part is that it's FREE!
