located in the heart of changzhou downtown, this pagoda is an impressive building, which you can best enjoy and explore on the top with a great view over Changzhou city.
Alltough the pagoda is not historic but rather new, it is still a great sight.

The temple close buy is older and a typical traditional chinese temple with many rooms and buddha statues. There is also a nice park right behind the pagoda.

I visited with my mum and 2 month year old baby. The temple was amazing- you could spend about 2-3 hours if you wanted to make the most of it. The pagoda itself was incredible- you can take an elevator to the higher floors and the stairs are available for the lower floors. The monks were friendly and there was a range of temple buildings and a garden to walk around. I’ve been in Asia for many years and sometimes I’m quite templed out but this one was worth a visit.

The pagoda makes for some good photos from the base and a short distance away with the water in front. The views out from the top are also good.

What the tower lacks in terms of historical authenticity, it makes up for with peace and quiet away from the crowds, and the lift going up to the top level is a great idea too!

Whet to see the temple and spent just over 3 hours wandering around the surrounding park which was really lovely. The weather was good so there were a lot of people with their children enjoying the park and the sunshine. There is so much to do especially for the children from catching gold fish, riding on the amusement park and boating. It was a really relaxing place. Visited the temple and went right to the top - just as well there is a lift however in some way it sort of spoils it - with a lift in it you know it is not an ancient building. Although this area is obviously a tourist attraction for Changzhou there is very little information available in English which is a shame as it would help to understand the area and what you are seeing better. However it was still a nice place to visit on a lovely day.

This is a nice temple to visit. I thought it would be bigger.

Some of the buildings are new, including the tower. The entrance fee is 20RMB and the tower is 60RMB. They are separate and you pay for the tower when you are inside of the temple area.

I went in early on a weekday so there were very few people there. I think this is the best time to go. If you want to pray, sometimes you can have an entire building to yourself (see below). There were probably about 20 people (excluding monks and people who work there) inside the entire temple grounds. When I left around 9am, there was a big tour group that just entered.

I am not sure if this is just a weekday occurrence, but there were a lot of monks praying in many of the buildings. I didn't try to go in but you can see them from the doorway and windows. You can also see the buildings they live in, which look very nice.

I was a bit disappointed that some of the buildings are new, but with China's history, it is very hard to have old temples and building still standing today.

The last building before the tower houses 1000 golden statues. I didnt bother to count, but i think they're pretty close. It was a quiet place to visit walk around in. Also a good quiet isolated place to pray. No one else was in the building.

I would recommend about an hour visit, but if you want to see every statue, it might take about 2-3 hours, especially if it is crowded.

It is probably the highest pagoda in China.
Nicely done and clean.
A lot of trees made the sunny day cooler.
Admission fee is 20 rmb without the pagoda.

This is a must see destination in changzhou. It’s just beautiful and mystical. We walked in the streets outside the temple walls and got lost in the small streets experiencing real Chinese living. We stumbled upon this incredible park which has this beautiful and one of the tallest temples. If your in changzhou make this a go to destination.

I'm from Changzhou and Tianning temple is always the #1 place i recommend people to visit whenever they are in town. Comparing to the other temples I've been in the country, this temple is rather a big size with lots of sections to see. My favourite part is to count the Luo Han in Luo Han Dian, where they have about one hundred budda with different facial expression and you are suppose to count them towards your age. You'll find the facial expression of the Luohan(budda) kind of matches what you are going throught at the moment. Regardless, it is a fun experience.
