The building was built at the end of the eighteenth century by the Reverend Apostolic Chamber that governed Sacred Island at that time. in axis with the bridge where the boats docked and was connected to this through a tree-lined avenue. The date of foundation, 1787, is commemorated in the plaque placed in the floor of the porch, while the coat of arms on the portal belongs to the Braschi Onesti family.
The style of the building is clearly neo-classical Roman, the interior has a single nave with a simple floor plan and a lunette barrel vault. The apse was incorporated into a building used as a sacristy and rectory.
