About
We have received many enquiries regarding reopening and regret to have to advise that we will not be reopening in 2020 and for as long as the C-19 social safe distancing requirements continue. As you are aware our facility is relatively expansive however it is impossible to implement the current social distancing recommendations in the intimacy of our playgrounds, petting/hot house, camp site and coffee shop. We wish you all safe passage through COVID-19 and hope to welcome you back at some point in 2021. Best Wishes Keep Safe Gráinne & Brendan

Just back from camping at Wallaby woods. Didn't know what to expect as could not find out much about the place . However we landed in the car park greeted by some friendly faces and park manager with untold willingness to get us to the camp site on route you see the goats pigs rabbits turtles and a host of other animals . We decided to set
up camp before we started our adventure around Wallaby woods. the park manager arrived to see if everything was ok and showed us the amenities . We spent the next 4 hours journeying around the playgrounds petting area and animal keeps . There is plenty to see and seating areas throughout for picnics or by q's . Back to the camp site by 6 as the main park closes we started collecting wood for the fabulous fire pit in the campsite . The kids joined in with there mouths watering at the idea of toasted marshmallows. Fire lit kids and Adults fed we sat around the campfire telling ghost stories.
I have to admit for such an experience that is the raw camping experience in a safe family friendly environment you will not beat this place and we camp a lot . We have always said we would not go back to the same place as there is so many other places in this country to see however when I asked my to boys(6 +11) on the way home which was the best part usually it's a big tree or crab fishing but there answer to wallaby woods was simple " everything" .To be honest I had a ball too. This place is a hidden Gem 25 min from the M 50 but reckon it won't stay so hidden for long . I know we'll definitely be back for another night or 2 camping or maybe just a day trip soon. The staff are friendly and talk to everyone educating you on the animals the manager helpful and he even joined in on our log throwing game ..priceless memories . #topspot

There is plenty of space and verity, between the animals and the recreation areas. In addition there is good seating and accommodating staff. Weather permitting you could spend the day there. The highlight was a young staff member seeing my son with his football and offering to organise him and some others to have a kick about. The space and goal posts set already up and waiting.

An interesting mixture of animal some as friendly as the staff. A handout was given to each family on arrival with a list of the animals and general rules. It would have been nice to see more information about the animals and clearer warnings not to stick fingers in bird cages etc. perhaps on the front of the cage rather than to the side wall and the information sheet; which was promptly shoved in my handbag while negotiating the picnic basket and blanket. I wish the owners well, a lot of effort has clearly been put into the venue.

Just home from Wallaby Woods. I’d been recommended by a friend and been meaning to go for ages and what a great trip out for the family. It’s located just outside of Dublin and the place is absolutely fantastic. The space is perfectly designed and set up, and you can clearly see the passion the owners have for the place and for the animals there. Loads of woodland space and totally safe for the kids to go off on their own, even the younger ones can run around. The staff were so friendly, clearly well trained and very professional. Our kids had a great time with all the animals, were allowed to hold the smaller ones and given a guided tour of the large ones. So many animals including the wallabies! You can see how well cared for they are. There are a number of play areas, the cafe is fantastic, and the entire place is spotlessly clean. We will defiantly be going back very soon and I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s one of the best family day out’s we’ve had in Ireland, way ahead of any competition. Well done there, the place is a credit to you!

I visited here with my girlfriend (both early 20's) on a hot summer's day. The place has to be every kid's dream, but you don't have to be a kid to enjoy it! There's a great variety of animals around the 16 acres and the staff are incredibly friendly, knowledgable and helpful. Our only regret was not bringing some food to enjoy in the picnic areas. €5 per adult is a more than reasonable charge in.

We went along to wallaby woods on a lovely sunny afternoon. Lots of animals to meet in the petting shed. Onwards to the woods & we found the lovely fairy's house.
Brought a picnic & enjoyed it at one of the benches around the forest.
A playground was also a welcome addition with even a trampoline - brilliant.

Stumbled across this place while looking for places to take the kids on a day trip while on tripadvisor. So glad I decided to give it a go. This place is totally under rated and I couldn't believe I hadn't heard about it before now. Set in the country but a quick trip up the M4 for me from Kinnegad, I will be back here as it has so much to offer. Arrived at midday and staff were friendly giving us a talk about the place, an info leaflet and brought us outside to send us on our way to explore. 20 euro for 2 adults and 2 kids aged 7+8 was reasonable I thought. Coffee shop on entrance serving bevereges and light snacks. First impressions very clean, well maintained inside and out and a laided back friendly atmosphere. Plenty of picnic tables outdoors and playground for small children under 5. Large play area for the bigger kids plenty of challenging climbling ropes and obstacle course. Tip: bring a change of clothes for the kids as we didn't and my son fell straight in on first balancing obstacle and was soaked through! Good job there was a strong hand dryer in the bathrooms but ended up wasting half an hr drying a few things to put back on him. 60m zip line is 2 euro extra charge but kids enjoyed it and were kitted out in a harness first. Indoor petting area is lovely, unusal shaped and painted housing areas for parrots, rabbits, snakes, scorpions, locusts, lizards and all with information and names. Shout out to Diarmaid who is a lovely, friendly young man who chatted away with us about the animals and took out the animals allowing the children to pet and even hold them. Amazing for the children and the adults and so personal not like places aboard that confines to certain times and subjects the animals to undue stress. Have to say this made our visit as we are true animal lovers and we could see that they are all very well looked after and truly cared for. There are also pigs, donkeys, pidgeons, emus and peacocks outside to be seen. Further on as we walked on a lovely wood chipped tidy walk way we discovered a massive oasis of plants, water, nature and more animals in beautifully kept grounds and more picnic areas and even party areas. There is another playground with well maintained play equipment and a trampoline. Fabulous tranquil setting that you could easily visit for a few hrs or spend the day with a large group of family and friends. Kids really enjoyed their time here and as adults we were impressed from start to finish and we will defenitley return in the future. Would love to see more places like Wallaby Woods and shout out to the owners for creating this hidden gem!

Best camping experience we have had to date, we were treated like royalty by the staff who brought all our camping gear from the car when we arrived and back again when we were leaving. We had access to the playground and obstacle courses after hours for as long as we wanted. campsite area is nicely hidden away from the day trippers. we also had the use of a large fire pit with surround seating in the middle of the campsite with lots of free firewood to keep the fire going all night. Facilities are spotless as were the toilets. well drained campsite with drainage issues.
Would highly recommend. perfect for kids and families.

We had passed here before during the winter and booked a BBQ area last Sunday for a party. It was brilliant, lovely decking right on the lake with BBQ, benches, chairs, cutlery etc. there were 6 adults and 6 kids. StAff couldn't do enough, very reasonable to hire and only 5€ entry. Had the area for as long as we want staff helped us bring things back to the car. Yiu must visit here!

We just had our Sons birthday at Wallaby Woods. To say it was a magical experience was an understatement. Donnachadh and his friends got to visit Santa, receive a gift, and were taken care of by Santas wife and loads of elves. Wallaby Woods is magically lit up with beautiful lights and Santa is in a wooden chalet, all reminiscent of Austria.
The staff including Grainne, Iria and Luana went out of their way to look after us. Grainne knew my husband needed a coffee and delivered it promptly!!
