I've been to this place many times since I was 6 and this last visit showed marked improvements in paths and conservation of the surrounding land. There is a walking path that goes right around and in some places lends itself to some pretty spectacular scenery and a photographers dream. You can also see many wildlife including ducks and swans. In the right time of the year you can even swim in the lake. You can also bike ride there and have a meal or a drink at the local hotel there which has been recently renovated. There is also a gym visit and areas to sunbaked and fun playgrounds for children, including mini golf near by.

Somewhat tiny but quite special water near the town centre of Saalfelden. Good place for swimming in summer, skating in winter and hiking all the year round. Very good restaurants nearby. Great gym with sauna and access to water. Schloss (Castle) Ritzen, with excellent local museum.
