Very nice cathedral in the cental square of Santa Ana. The stone work and beautiful white color on the outside are spectacular. The inside isn't amazing, but it is large and interesting to walk around. Definitely have a peak if you're in Santa Ana!
I was GRANDPAcking in Santa Ana for 7 nights and stayed in an hotel next to the Cathedral.
The Cathedral is nice and it can be done in 10 minutes.
Santa Ana is not ‘Antigua’. The town, itself, offers little to a tourist.
This is an interesting building because of the mixture of architectural styles that don't quite clash. As a place of worship it was tranquil but not spiritual and I really don't like their "electric" alternative to lighting a candle in memory of loved ones.
