Nosara Day Camp is amazing. Cinthya and her team are wonderful to work with and our kids had a blast. Her programs are different every week and no matter what the weather, the kids seemed to have a great time! Would 100% recommend giving your kids this experience while visiting Nosara.

We LOVE Nosara Day Camp! We live in Nosara full time, and when our son isn't in school, he goes to NDC, because they have the coolest activites you can do here. Honestly, the parents always want to go too! My son talks about his days at NDC constantly, and there's never a dull activity, or bad day at camp. Cinthya and the team are the only people I trust to take my kid places without me, and I never worry about his safety. Highly recommend!

This was our second year sending our 3 children, ages 5, 8 and 9 to Nosara Day Camp. It is a dream camp with adventurous and fun activities like horseback riding, octopus hunting, visting bat caves and the rope swing .It feels like family and the kids loved it so much, they wanted to go every day! I wish they had a version of the camp for adults.

I rarely write reviews but after our recent trip to Costa Rica, I felt compelled to rain praise on Nosara Day Camp (and maybe a little wary to give away our gem).

If you are traveling to Nosara with children, I recommend Nosara Day Camp very very highly.
Elizabeth Cundill and Cinthya Rosales run a very tight ship and safety is the most important part of their mission.
That fact should give parents great confidence in leaving their children with them.
They also run a terrific, stimulating, active, exciting program for the kids.
That fact will make the kids want to go back day after day after day.

I don't think you'll find many day camp owners in Costa Rica or anywhere else with an MBA. But that's exactly what Elizabeth has.
She's from Canada and has partnered with Cinthya - a terrific, local woman with a university degree in education (she also runs a nanny service, so you can make date night plans too!).
Together they make magic.

Before we went down to Nosara, we started following the camp on Facebook.
And when the schedule was posted for the week my children would be attending, I told me wife: "Forget the kids, I want to go to camp myself!"

There were pizza making classes and hikes; explorations of waterfalls; a morning on a farm; paddleboarding and surfing.
What more could you ask for? Not much at all.

In the end, it was the best of both worlds.
Our familial theory is that on vacation, EVERYBODY should have a vacation - parents and kids alike. Right?
Well, we've found that entertaining two energetic boys all-day every day is exhausting.
So we seek out places where we can enroll them in camp for part of the day.
If you're like us, you've had vacations where you've felt badly about putting them in some resort day camp where they don't seem to do much but sit and play video games all day.
This is the polar opposite: this is a roaring good time for the kids (and educational to boot). The boys, in the end, established deeper ties to the town and the country than we did! And we the parents have a few hours "off" every morning to relax.

In closing, I thought I would share words straight from the mouths of my children when I asked them to tell me about their Nosara Day Camp experience.
Here's what they had to say:
M (11-years old): This camp is so fun. You get to do so many awesome activities. It was an experience that taught kids about nature and I had a lot of fun. I also learned how to be more independent.
C (8-years old): It was really fun and adventurous. My favorite part were the hikes. It was really cool to see the views and the animals. You should go because it's lots of fun!

What a thoughtful and generous review! THANK YOU! I'll make sure our hardworking staff sees this, I know they'll feel the same gratification that Cinthya and I do! Elizabeth

Nosara day camp offers a great service to families who vacate in the Nosara area. We had our two kids - 3 and 6 years old - at the camp at our last stay. We were planning on sending them for one or two days and ended up sending them four days.

Their activities are really fun for the kids. They went kayaking, hiking, visited a farm, and got lectures from a snake specialist and a fireman. It made the camp a true "Costa-Rican experience", as opposed to some kids clubs that just get your kids in front of the TV. It enriched their experience tremendously.

Second, and more importantly, it's very safe. The staff - led by Elizabeth and Cinthya-- is very competent and puts safety first and has an excellent ratio of guides to kids to ensure that. Besides general safety, they were attentive to our kids, made sure they drink and are doing well (and sent us nice photos from the camp ).

We strongly recommend it!

Thank so much for this kind review- we try hard to make sure the kids are absolutely safe, that their experiences are unique and reflect the unique culture and environments that our beautiful area has to offer. So it's gratifying to see the effort is paying off. Travel safe! Hasta pronto! Elizabeth

Our little guy spent 5 mornings at Nosara Day Camp during spring break. He has never been a kid who loves "camp", but after his first day at Nosara Day Camp when I told him he was going to camp again the next day, his reply was, "Yes!!!!!" When it was time for pick-up, I had to drag him away.

The kids spent every morning outdoors doing different jungle adventures (a farm in Ostional, exploring the bat cave, roasting marshmallows over a bonfire at Playa Garza). He came home exhausted but happy. As a parent of one of the younger ones in the camp, my main concern was making sure the littler kids had enough supervision, but Elizabeth, Cinthya and the other camp leaders totally had that covered. They always had an adult assigned to corral the different age groups, they reapplied sunscreen often, and he even made it back home with all of his stuff - towels, hats, water bottles, etc. Thank you Elizabeth, Cinthya and team for running such a first-class operation, and we look forward to next time!

When we return for our third trip to Nosara we will be signing our three boys up for Nosara Day Camp with Elizabeth and Cinthya and their wonderful team of counsellors. Our sons are 11, 8 and 5 and are very different...they ALL had the best time each and every day they attended camp...the activities are fun and authentic to the locale. The team really love what they do and the kids feel it and feel safe and comfortable. We all ❤️ Nosara Day Camp...can't wait to return but in the meantime we have our kids to remind us about all the things did and learnt...and photos to look at from Elizabeth and Cinthya👍✌👏

We currently live in Nosara, so I wasn't sure that the day camp outing to the Boca (river mouth) and to Cafe de Paris would be exciting for him, but he had so much fun that when I came to get him he wanted to stay the extra hours. They went fishing, swam in the river, built a fort, ate lots of healthy food and played in the pool. He LOVED it and loved the staff too. He said they were very nice, and he wants to go a lot more times before we leave Costa Rica. :)

My two older children, 8 and 4 year old boys, spent two months with Cinthya, Elizabeth and their amazing crew in lieu of school. We were in Nosara for two months. It was an incredible experience for the children and they really blossomed and did so many amazing things that we adults only wished we could do. The activities are too many to name, but they went to local farms, milled cows, of cart rides, held baby chicks, roped swing into rivers, BBQ'd on the beach, went fishing, SUP and kayaking, visited many different beaches, tide pools and blowholes, bat caves, children's classes at NALU, snake safety classes, and so much more! The first week, the kids fell asleep on the couch every night super early, they were so exhausted :) We will miss this camp and all the wonderful folks. We will definitely be back and look forward to seeing everyone again soon!
