We just returned from our first trip to Playa Guiones/Nosara. Our family of 4 had one intermediate surfer and 3 beginners. Safari Surf School was the perfect place for all of us to improve! Their instructors are knowledgeable, helpful and funny. They made learning fun and really helped our 13 year-old improve his skills. From start to finish, the staff... More

Just got back from a week in paradise surfing a beautiful beach break! The hotel (olas verdes) was small, private, quiet, had large rooms and was new. I loathe high rise hotels with all the noise and the disconnect with nature. The room I was in looked out to the jungle. The school itself was fantastic. Instructors were thorough with... More

I have taken my family to Nosara 4 times and we always use Safari Surf school. My wife and I have 13 yr. old twins girls who enjoy surfing. We want them to be safe and the instructors fully understand this and not only show the girls a great time but put my nervous wife to ease. We have known... More

My wife and I recently returned from a delightful visit to the Safari Surf School and Olas Verdes Hotel. Our trip was excellent, the staff was extremely pleasant and helpful, and the location was wonderful. My wife is celiac and the restaurant at Olas Verdes was able to accommodate her with any trouble, and the food was amazing! Alicia and... More

Stayed at Olas Verde and it was convenient that Safari Surf was on site. So we decided to rent board from here. The board selection was pretty bad, most of the boards were dinged up and really ugly and old. Most were of low quality, super heavy cheap boards. The rates varies from $10-$25/day. Very few selection. only had very... More

We appreciate the feedback about the boards we offer for rent. We are not a surf shop and we do not advertise boards for rent. All of our new equipment is designated specifically for our "all inclusive" surf package guests. However, we do keep some older surfboards around for the "off chance" a person may want to rent a surfboard.... More

Highly recommend Safari Surf and the Olas Verde hotel. So easy staying right on site and buying the package means you don't have to think about logistics at all. Jeffrey and Jasmine have every surf lesson, activity and dinners out mapped out for you. We did 2 surf lessons a day which was super fun. This kept us and our... More

If you are looking for a vacation in Costa Rica with an added bonus, go to Playa Guiones and learn to surf. The instructors are super nice, and very helpful no matter your level of experience. This school is ideal for couples, or entire families. They speak English, and are certified instructors. You'll learn something, and have a great time.

Sent our two teenage boys to Costa Rico for an adventure and to learn how to surf. They came back happy and excited; as it was a life changing experience! They loved the set up of the school-- the staff was amazing. Not only did they do an excellent job at teaching them how to surf, but they took them... More

Had an amazing time. The staff was very helpful and wanted to assure you got the most out your lessons and not just stick you in the water to make a dollar. The instructors were very knowledgeable and you can tell they loved what they did. I was up on green waves during my second lesson and Jeff got same... More

Nosara is a surf mecca - everyone surfs and half as many teach - but we keep coming back to these guys because they've showed us so much more than just getting up on those waves. They have helped us, at various levels of skill and experience, navigate the swells, tides and varying surf conditions and learn about the pros... More
