In a city which is not putting tourism at the forefront this is one of these places where you should definitely go to. Preferably around 6-7 pm and in the weekend. Why? So you can join the locals working out in different ways or enjoy the foods or other things for sale at the market.
During day time it's worthwhile to combine with a visit to the temple wearing the same name.

Perimeter is a great running track, very busy early evening.
Nice small temple, beaten up outdoor gym, Basketball courts, photogenic candle monument and in the far SW corner, a small monument of thanks from WW2 POWs to the local people who gave them food during their captivity.
Avoid during the Songkran water festival unless you enjoy manic hysteria and dirty water fights....lots of people do. At new year a big fair and teak furniture market. Most weekends an amazing food night market on the adjoining walking street. Good buzz there once dark.
Very safe place with many friendly locals who like to try out their English. Ample parking in cross sectional road before 4pm. Worth a visit. Perimeter track well shaded by trees.

I walked through and around this park twice and it's a real popular place for the locals. A good place to get some exercise and enjoy some fresh air.

If you like to observe local daily life of Ubon people. Here it is. Early since 5 o'clock in the morning, there are many Ubon locals come for exercises-- jogging, riding bicycle, aerobic dance, yoga, Tai' chi Chuan and so on. Before 8 am. when school will start, parents are busy taking kids to schools. Strong sunlight during the day, may keep people in their shade. The park will be crowded and energized again after 3 pm. Family come to hang out for various recreations. The street food stroller merchants set up their shops, where we can enjoy local foods until 10 pm.!! Always love this place.

The lovely worship areas, complete with memorable golden Buddhas and decor are awesome to see. And the riverside meditation garden was an unexpected delight. I will treasure the pictures I was able to take.

There is much to do by way of shows, dancing, weekend outdoor shopping centers. Food galore is to be found on the square along with many opportunities to exercise.

This is a good place to go if you want to exercise and/or walk about the city. Also, this is a wonderful place to go for the candle celebration. The candle celebration is one of the must see things to do when you go to Thailand. On a regular day, you can go here and learn some about Ubon

I like to have this opportunity to run. It is close to our childrens school. We met special people there. We even found a builder for our house.

This place is a utility facility of the city. You can come to relax, exercise and so on. It is also the venue for the candle parade. This is a great and important festival of the province. There are many fairs and shows that are fun and interesting.

I was here for the Candle Festival this weekend. So much going on in this huge park! Lots of street food available. People selling all manner of fun things. A variety of entertainers. Everyone was in such good spirits, and it was an alcohol-free celebration. As one of the few foreign visitors, I seemed to attract a lot of very kind attention from genuinely helpful people.
