This road station onsen is along the route to the coast of Kitami. It had good facilities and there are a few eateries nearby. Not much to do around here with maybe just the mint museum except some grocery shopping, so perhaps just for a short stop.

This is one large Roadside Station complex. The information office is at its front section; then a large cuckoo clock tower, followed by a building with local products. The region is well-known for the production of lumber and their gift products reflect it. The cuckoo clock tower operates every time on the hour for about four to five minutes. It's fun to see it if the timeing is right. There are several private shops as well as an aquarium and a red fox sanctuary.
