Don’t expect full menu range this is a focus on the berry, so while you will get fries and ice creams the breakfast menu is restricted to waffles and toasted sandwiches.
That being said - this is a fun place for the family. After picking loads of delicious berries you can play mini golf, connect 4 or go to the petting zoo. You can even get a full family photo done as bees!
Come prepared with energy and sunscreen.

While on holiday at Awakeri Hot Springs our family of 4 stopped in at Julian's Berry Farm & cafe for a nice cold berry icecream, lots of different flavors to choose from & can be served in a waffle cone or tub.
Lovely setting staff & good prices!
Lots of activities to be enjoyed volley ball mini putt & a petting zoo of farm animals. You can pick your own fruit when in season. A place you can sti visit when it's raining as they have tables & chairs set up under cover.
Situated between Awakeri & Whakatane so if you feel like a nice cold berry icecream give Julian's a try you won't be disappointed!
10/10 I know we will definitely be going back! :-)

Julian's Berry Farm is truly place of quality service, friendliness, delicious foods & very prompt service.
This is a fantastic place to go to for birthdays, special lunches & even school outings for special treats.
The place is always tidy, well managed & well laid out that even on their busy days one does not feel overwhelm with numbers. It's the BEST in the Bay with layout, foods & the team who serve the public.
Our family's favourite place.
The owners have set a fantastic culture that NZ is well known for - great hospitality and great food!!!!

Ordered three Chicken Bacon burgers with fries and coffee’s. We were over charged $40, the cashier picked up the error and refunded us in cash (we had paid by EFT-POS). There was no bacon in the burgers and on closer inspection they had “bacon jam”, so actually had no bacon. They tasted strange, like they had Indian curry in them, not what we expected. The fries were good, but were let down by the cheap generic tomato sauce. Coffees were excellent.

Enjoyed lunch here with lovely berry pancakes. The place was very busy over the summer break but service was still fast. Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to pick any berries but they have plenty on sale if you want to purchase.

An unusual place with a little petting farm and mini golf to compliment the main attraction of ice cream and berries. Our small granddaughter was with us and she enjoyed the animals. Between 4 of us we had a smoothie and 3 mixed berry ice creams - all were very nice. I know the cafe caters for a lot of customers but I did think it could do with an upgrade.

Julian's has something for everyone. A nice car park and trim neat fields surround the shop which sports a wonderful cafe and fun ice cream vendor. There are plenty of jams and jellies, strawberry compote and gifts for shoppers. The food in the cafe is delicious and filling. There's a birthday party area, nice bathrooms, and plenty of outdoor seating. I enjoyed their fresh salad and strawberry ice-cream and was even able to feed my habit for a bottle of Coke Zero. The put put golf was fun, even though Kirk won!

Julian's have a great menu to suit all tastes. Not gourmet food but never the less really good food. Fries, burgers the list goes on. Real fruit icecream, berries and all the bits to go with it. We were just passing through and tried the strawberry sundae. This was the small portion 🤩🤩. I would not like to attempt the large size. Try them but beware the calories.😂

We love Julians and visit every time we go to Whakatane. The berries are amazing, as is the food at the cafe and berry icecreams. Also worth the stop for a round of mini golf and the staff are always super friendly and helpful

My 2.5 year old son loved the berry pancakes, feeding the sheep, patting the rabbits and the playground. We spent about 2 hours there, great morning out with the family and delicious food. Would go again if we were in the area.
