Went on Ohope Beach today when it was windy with torrential rain and then brilliant sunshine. Understandably, there were not many people around apart from some surfers who enjoyed the elements. Lovely, clean beach with good scenic views.
Nice for a visit summer or winter. Walk along the beach or the walking track from far end of the beach. Nice viewing area just up the hill from Ohope which gives vistas down to ohiwa harbor. Worth a drive down to the harbor. Oysters...More
Really nice beach and worth a look, but other than collecting melanoma's there isn't much to do. Nice 20 minute drive through the hills from Whakatane, and a visit to the lookout along the road made the trip worthwhile
