Great walk to the summit and site of a Maori Pa, can't wait for the forest to be cleared of Privet and other bad plants so the natives can continue to grow through. The view from the top is second to none. Would love to learn more about the Pa site.

We walked from our motel in the town to the start of the walk which is well made and signposted. Steepish but not too onerous, I did it in my jandals, cleaned carefully to prevent the spread of die back. The recent dry spell has affected some of the fledgling young kauri and hopefully they will survive.

Nice 360 degree views from the pā and then we took the circular route back down along the harbour side road into town which is occasionally paved but mostly just roadside. A very pleasant way to spend an hour although we would also suggest the Long Bay, Tucks Bay loop nearby with a giant kauri to see en route, a walk which was much more beautiful in very much more established forest.

It starts easy but already after a few steps you have the first stairs to climb. It is an irregular path which goes either to the harbour (keep left at the split/almost at the end) or Hauraki Rd (right).

Good walk - right in the town. We had one hr to spare and we just went onto this short walk. Great walk for the location. Good view of the whole region and nice exercise before lunch. Highly recommended.

Not a good walk to do. Spot the small 1mtr high Kauri seedlings among the 200 old pine trees. Come back in 100yrs to see the 50 Kauri trees

Nice views from the Pa, but to be honest find another walk, and find some other kauris to look at. On the positive dogs on leads are allowed. If you do a circuit a bit of a trudge is possible back along the road.

Take water, your camera and a jumper. The path is well kept gravel. There are stairs and it is steep in places to be careful when descending as leaf litter can make it slippery if you aren't careful. The views from the Pa are fantastic. We started at Harbour View Rd, went up to the Pa then down the track and exited at Wharf Rd. We then walked along the path or road back to Harbour View Rd.

Some decent views of the surrounding countryside. Not much in the way of kauri to look at, unless you read this post 200 years from now.

Excellent views of Coromandel harbour , Hauraki Island and McGregor bay. Take the walk it is steep to start but well worth the climb. See the young kauri that have been planted along the way
