This may be a rather small museum, but it is really a gem and shouldn’t be missed when you are in Edirne. The beautiful and intact pieces found in Ainos ( today Enez) are really incredible. The museum has dedicated a special section to these...More

This museum is just behind the Selimiye Complex. Very small museum but worth visiting because there are many sculptures of ancient Greece and Rome exhibited here as well. The garden is full of sculptures, too. There is no English leaflets, I'm afraid.

Small and very 'friendly '. Situated just at the back of Selimiye Cami. With beautiful garden. Inside Turkish folklore part and archaeological with Greek remains found in Ainos. For sure worth visiting.

The museum is right across from the Selimiye Mosque. It is a nice place to duck into to avoid the heat and learn about the Edirne area. The ticket price was very little, perhaps 5-7 TL. There are plenty of display cases with many artifacts...More

This museum consists of several rooms entered through the square courtyard. Artifacts are interesting and because of the size of the museum, you don't get overwhelmed and manage to remember new things you'll learn. I particularly enjoyed short film about the famous architect Sinan and...More

This small museum has a great collection of everyday artifacts from the ancient sites of the area. The sculpture collection, the Ottoman Dioramas and the pre-historic stone dwelling ( outside in the garden) are very interesting. The staff is helpful and friendly.

While small, this is a fun place to visit in Edirne. There are artifacts that go back to prehistoric time, Roman times and others. Not a big building, so the time is 30 minutes or less, but the price is inexpensive. Glad we went.

Not far from the Selimiye Mosque. Artifacts and historical information from around the province, and a lot more less memorable pieces lying in the grounds. There is a small entrance fee (4TL).

This museum is behind Selimye mosque and is worth a stop. It just says "muse" on the outside. The first section is ethnographic and very colourful. The rest of the collection is Greek and Roman finds from Trace. It will take less than an hour...More
