It is a tower that has been remained since 4th century right in the center of the city. Although it looks very nice unfortunately has been left unattended and full of garbage. Apart from the tower on the back side there are remains of old pottery industry.

I would say that this place is the most touching place in the entire Edirne. Because here you can still touch a piece of its history before the Ottomans. If you are searching for its Roman and Byzantine lost glory, this is the right place. You can see some of the remains of the city walls, some Byzantine pottery ovens, the remains of an old Byzantine church, and also you can see the ”care” of the Turkish authorities for these things. The tower is useful, to catch your attention, but the real ancient things are behind it. A small area worth dropping a tear for the old city of Hadrianopolis. (PS: my rating is in the middle, ”average”. I would rate it with ”terrible” for the way it is preserved and with ”excellent” for its importance.)

There is nothing special to see here apart from the construction. Which is not very spectacular anyway. If you are nearby than worth to spend 5 minutes.

You'll stumble over this tower as you walk around Edirne, but there is no need to look it up. It doesn't offer all that much apart from a photo opportunity of a construction. I couldn't see a plaque or anything explaining, but in fairness I didn't walk around it. I was a bit put off by the trash that was visible through one opening.

The building and surrounding was really historic, some walls from Roman Empire, some from Ottoman, but the care was not really there. About a week or two, we were in Wien City, Austria, they had preserved way smaller ruins and made it main tourist attraction. These ruins were way larger and more meaningful, however, not much care given and people threw their trashes into this wonderful place. It was pity.
