If you're walking along the nature reserve path, this is a great place to stop for a rest, a drink or a loo stop. There is also a museum which i didn't go into.

The castle is a hostel now, but you can also enjoy a drink on the sunny terraces. Next door the castle there is a museum and there are different hiking / walking tracks through the vast grounds of the castle. The grounds end up the beach.
Beautiful, beautiful place to enjoy, meditate, relax or even lay down on the beach.
You can ride a horse, rent a bike, do some windsurfing, etc.

This beautiful 13th century castle is now used as a 'Stayokay' hostel and has the perfect location for a holiday close to the woods and the beach. I have been coming back here every summer for the last 25 years.

Stayed here with my daughters and we love it. We like scouting and youth hostels and this is a brilliant place. A castle surrounded by a moat.

we didn't stay at this castle, but just dropped in as we passed. Next time around, we will stay here. It must be great to stay in a historic building. The surrounding area is beautiful. There is a forest which is great for walking. it is also only a short walk tot the beautiful unspoilt beach from the castle. Beautiful accomodation in a beautiful setting.

Walking around in the dunes and woods around this castle, we saw on a sign that you can have a drink in the courtyard and bar of this hostal. What a lovely spot there on this castle. Selfservice with a full bar and some fingerfood. Nice place after a good walk or visit to the neighboor nature museum.

I visited this place in 2012 and I loved the medicinal garden the most. For a person from tropical lands like me, watching a castle like this was quite impressive. I would like to ride my bike back there again.

Nice walk on the grounds. Too bad you have to pay parking fees for a place in the middle of nowhere. Too bad you can't photograph the castle nicely because you can't walk around it.
