We timed our visit so that we can catch both the dolphin and the seals demonstrations/feedings. Between those events, we visited the museum and aquarium and learned a lot about the ecology and history of the area. The museum is very modern, with many interactive displays and very child-friendly. It has information about life in the sea and on the... More

Nice little sea museum with a busy aquarium and sea-lions to see. This activity should be planned on a rainy day but of course can be appreciated with good weather :-)

The visit to Ecomare is worth it and, furthermore, the money is used to host and cure hurt animals, like seals, porpoises, gannets, etc... The sea aquarium is particularly interesting as well as the 5 KM walk in the dunes behind Ecomare.

If you visit Texel you should defenitely visit Ecomare. A place where they nurse wounded or sick seals, seabirds and porpoises back to health. Some of them even live there permanantly.

Eco Mare should not be confused with Sea World and its ilk. The mission is to rescue seals and porpoises that are ill, injured or prematurely separated from their mothers. They work to return the animals to the wild when possible. There is also a fine museum and great dune trail with interactive features.

25 euro entry for our family of 4, the two children were free because they are young. seemed a lot at first, but after spending a very pleasant time there, i can say it was well worth it. the seals are great fun, as are the porpoises, with some nice shows and explanations. the whale bones are fascinating, and the...
