The Jachthuis – Country Residence - of the Kröller-Müller Family is situated in the Hoge Veluwe National Park, located not far from Otterloo. To visit the Jachthuis it is necessary to buy tickets to the National Park, and also it is mandatory to book a tour to visit the inside of the residence.
The Jachthuis is a very special structure, and the Dutch architect, Berlage, designed not only the house, but also the interior including the furniture.
The house is very special, and if you are interested in architecture and the background of the Kröller-Müllers, this is a good tour.

"Jachthuis Sint Hubertus" is situated in the middle of "NP De Hoge Veluwe" Due Covid 19 situation we could only visit the outside and restauration was only available in a little pavilion outside the main building. Worth a visit for people who are fond of architecture.

We were stunned by this example of integral artistic concept design, certainly a benchmark on EU level being able to compete with some Belgian examples of the same epoque.
Our tour was extremely well brought, the lady being able to answer to every single question.

The building is a wonderful piece of "Gesamtkunst".
We had a 45 min tour, with free audioguide and a Dutch speaking guide. It was a little crowded, and the guide apparently covered a lot of detail which was not in the audioguide.
Unfortunately the tower was not acessible, but nevertheless a great visit.

It’s a remarkable building. I was able to take a guided tour, and the various rooms were very much worth a visit, especially since our guide added many interesting anecdotes about the family who lived in the home. The building is a bit eccentric, and quite beautiful.

The Jachtuis is a special place to visit and worth while to make the effort. Located in a beautiful nature reserve - once hunting grounds for the Dutch royals - the story of the house tells the story of the Kroller Muller family and their architect Hendrik Petrus Berlage. Tours are given only by reservation - via the internet or phone, English tours are only audio. The rooms of the house are not all open, which is a shame, yet one can still enjoy the visit with the tour provided. If the weather permits it, it is recommended to park the car outside the park and ride on the bicycles provided by the park staff.

Visited this building years ago, but at that time the guide was hasty and unpleasant. This time we met a very informative and nice guide, Jan, who knew many interesting details on both the concept of the architecture, and the troubles between architect and the family Kröller-Müller. Vivid guided tour with lots of fun facts.

After viewing the art museum and sculpture garden, I hopped on one of the hundred of free bikes in the park and rode to this very dramatic castle-as-home. It is quite mesmerizing to view, especially as the huge brick tower dominates over the water feature surrounding a part of it and a lush lawn around the front. I did not take the tour but just viewing the building and riding around its grounds made me appreciate this remarkable landmark. Lucky folks who got to live in it for awhile.

When entering Hoge Veluwe from Otterlo this should be your first visit on your bike ride.
A great spot to enjoy lunch or chilling next to the pond, overlooking the fine building Jachthuis Sint Hubertus.
