Nice scenery, heather & wood and farmlands
Aug 2017 • Friends
Lovely area for planning a cycling day out.
Wood, heather and farmlands seem to alternate.
Some of the cycle paths are quite small, so y'all need a steady hand when passing people or with oncoming cyclists, so it may be better to stop once and a while like some in our little group did.

Beautiful forest, great for cycling especially in autumn. Among the trees you can even find sand dunes and patches of marsh

Beautiful!
Jul 2016 • Couples
This place is beautiful!! Great walk around on the short and informative path. Lots of scenic things to do and see. If you venture out more, be sure to follow the signs. It's easy to lose the markers a bit but you'll always manage to find your way. Cute cafe with good coffee at the main parking lot as well.

Back to nature
Sep 2015
This is a lovely, uncrowded, relaxing place to get away from the crowds and enjoy nature. Good , flat walking paths in some areas though you are also allowed to roam as you please. There are some wooded areas but the terrain is mostly grassland. Various natural ponds can be found throughout the park so waterfowl can also be observed. Scottish Highlander cattle also roam freely in some areas of the park. They are extraordinary and docile and while not skittish of people they rarely approach. Plenty of free parking at multiple entrances and no parking or entry fee. Enjoy the natural beauty of Drenthe-Friesland!

Ideal for a walk with your dog
Jan 2016 • Couples
This National Park has several areas where dogs are allowed to run free and to play with other dogs. A big areal is located near the village of Appelscha. We have done the "Natte Neuzen" roundwalk.
Furthermore is this a large area with a great difference in the type of fields: forest, sand dunes and lakes.

beautifull area
Jan 2015 • Solo
This is one of the 2 national parcs in the council of westerveld. Its an area of outstanding natural beauty. This parc has everything you can wish for to enjoy yourself, its great for cycling, walking, hiking, running, mountainbiking, horseriding and there are many routes. The landscape is so nice and various, from pinetrees to sanddunes and mooreland and little lakes and fields with flowers. There is bog cows walking around in certain areas as well as sheep. Definately a great area to have a holiday.

Wonderful for family forest cycling
May 2015 • Family
The natural forest is easily accessable by bicycle and makes a great family holiday location. For beginners, young and old, the flat smooth concrete cycle paths are safe and take you amongst the woods. There are a few cafe stops along the way and lots of natural views. We visit Diever each year for a great family time.

De veengronden

One of the last area's in the Netherlands where you can experience the typical Dutch peat land. With nearly extinct plants, lots of birds which are using all the small pools to rest and eat.

Beautiful park for cycling
Sep 2014 • Friends
The park has a wonderful network of cycle paths through hills, woods and heath. We did an afternoon loop but could easily have spent days exploring.
