- Eimear8888Ireland259 contributionsA stunning relaxing placeWe spent a wonderful ten days in playa Blanca in the wonderful island of Lanzarote in August. It was our first time to visit the island. We hired a car and explored every inch of the island. There are so many hidden gens in Playa Blanca - the marina, beaches, people !!!! We stayed in the newer part which was greatVisited August 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 12, 2023

- Dave DLiverpool, United Kingdom47 contributionsGreat quite place in the sun 🌞Just a great place to relax and enjoy the sunshine 🌞 it's the end of November, going into December and it's 23 and sunny/ cloudy. Perfect weather 👌 Playa blanca is pretty quite and good for relaxing, but with stuff to do. Not for the young or young families, they'll be bored. It's easy to drive over here, but taxis are available and buses 🚌 seem regular. If you're looking for a beach/ prom/walking holiday with loads of seaside views. This is the place for you.Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten December 4, 2023

- Bob WBourne, United Kingdom39 contributionsGreat first time visit to Playa Blanca, Lanzarote. So from first timers to Playa Blanca of a certain age, this review may help others considering PB. If you’re a regular then don’t bother to criticise. We loved the area and just walked either side of the Princess Yaiza where we stayed. Ate at several different restaurants but love the Volcan for value, atmosphere and friendly staff. Marina Rubicon is a great area of shops, restaurants and views of lovely yachts (can’t beat a coffee or drink on a lively Marina). The hotel was great with friendly , attentive staff but balconies on C wing don’t get as much sun as the other side D. Some completely obscured by palms. Also kids pools are that side so a bit noisier but who doesn’t like youngsters having a good time? Breakfast buffet was excellent. There two to choose from (plus an a la Carte). We didn’t eat other meals at the hotel. Two restaurants were closed for refurbishment but look close to reopening. The only criticism is that the very useful mini kitchen area with sink , full size fridge and microwave was not equipped with any crockery, cutlery or drying/ washing cloths which seemed bizarre. We took plates and knives from the buffet which they were quite happy with. There is a coffee maker with pods and a kettle and small cups/ saucers and tumblers but no wine glasses. In house entertainment was poor. Pools seemed heated but we didn’t use them. They were well kept and plenty of sunbeds with brollys but they are fixed , so could not be moved to your bed. The promenade is great, well maintained and right outside the hotel back gates. We took the ferry to Carrelejo and were glad we chose PB. More shops but nowhere near as nice in our opinion. Beach right outside the hotel looked lovely; we are not beach people but looked clean and well stocked with sunbeds and brollys. The weather was windy and cloudy on arrival on Jan 23rd but improved all week. Today -29th- is 24c with almost no wind. Perfect. So calm the world foil windsurfing championships could not start today as planned due to lack of wind! Hope you like PB as much as we did.Visited January 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten January 30, 2024
- GrahamRugby, United Kingdom1,536 contributionsA place to relax unwind and if you can, do nothing. The weather here is fantastic. We've been told that the island is sunny, pretty much all year. Here we are in early February and it is in the 20's. There is a promenade from the old castle to the light house at the other end of the bay. There is also a local volcano (extinct) that you can walk up. Once at the top you walk around the central circle of the volcanic centre. If you come up here, be careful because it is extremely windy, and if you have a hat you may lose it. I made a mistake of wearing a shirt and the pills kept hitting me in the face, this is a T-shirt day.Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 4, 2024

Not enough paved roads for cycling so had to take up gravel riding on the many dirt roads . Too busy to cycle along the prom !Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 21, 2024

Some of the drivers are slightly vicious but it's a great place for families. Great for people who love sports, or would like to hire bicycles or go diving. You can go on a submarine or a camel ride, it's brilliant. Lots of pretty beaches and adventures, good for everyone.Visited March 2024Traveled with familyWritten March 28, 2024
- Elsa C. L.New York City, New York5,326 contributionsFascinating drive from mountains to the Atlantic OceanFrom Puerto del Carmen, the road to Playa Blanca crosses the mountains. The winding descent is exhilarating for me as the driver. Beautiful views of the mountains, curvy road, the valley below and the Atlantic Coast beyond. The area flanking the beach with shops, restaurants and accommodations is hopping. Nearby is a resort that is likely 5 star.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 13, 2024
- Gary L3 contributionsDay on the OceanFor anybody looking for a thoroughly enjoyable day at sea should check out chartercanarias.com They are a super personable group who set up great trips on the ocean on one of their catamarans. From the minute you step on board you are greeted by a very professional captain and 1st mate who leave no stone unturned... They have everything needed for all levels of swimming abilities, with life vests if required. Once you set sail you are brought all along the coast as you head to Papagayo, all the time you're given a brief history of the area which is very interesting as a side point. When you anchor you are given the chance to swim off the back of the Catatmaran where the crew provide snorkeling equipment and floats for people to enjoy a float in the sea...for the daredevil they allow the opportunity to dive off the side which is quite an enjoyable experience depending on your age.... while you swim the crew then put on a spread of hams, cheese and bread with the odd beer or glass of cava thrown in to wash everything down... When finished you set sail for home where you get the opportunity to drive the Catamaran. So to finish please check the website out you won't be disappointed.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 1, 2024

Playa Blanca used to be beautiful and still in touch with its roots of culture. After Covid they have gone very commercialised all just for money and trying to cram as many tourists in as they can and it’s going to get worst now the harbour has been extended to a port for small cruise ships and the mammoth hotel there building near the marina. If your older and don’t have young children the link super pedestrian electric scooters is the best way to get around as for love nor money or if you want to que a hour you cannot get a taxi at all they used to be so fast a now there seems to be none around. It’s shame as we’ve been coming to playa Blanca for years but this will be our last time here and won’t be returning as is going to get worse.

Got swindled in every way. Overpriced drinks, umbrella usage and unwanted items. Felt unsafe just walking to the water. They made us throw away our water and snacks on the way in to buy theirs. We sat under an umbrella only to be charged afterwards. Two women rubbed our shoulders for 5 minutes without our permission and tried to charge $100 for massage. We wanted to leave immediately but our tour didn’t allow that and on the way out, I saw our snacks that they made us throw out on a table for sale for others on their way in. Total ripoff tourist trap.

We booked and travelled via Jet 2.We took the whole of 2 1/4 hours (standing/queueing to check our baggage in, having checked ourselves in on-line some time before our trip.
The check in staff, air-crew and drivers were all very good. Pleasant and helpful
We had arranged private transfer from and to the airport which was very good.
The Lanzarote Princess Hotel is excellent

This beach is a complete scam…the vendors will run out to your car, bang on the windows and then sell you a table set at the beach. Worst part is they will charge your credit card and PRETEND that the transaction did not go through. Then charge you again. DO NOT go to this beach. It’s not even that nice

Monday 15th July we walked along the Paeso Maritima from our Hotel H10 Timanfaya Palace towards Rubicon Marina.
Along the way we passed this popular stretch of beach, although it's name translates as White Beach the sand is a golden colour. It is situated along the coast between the Port of Playa Blanca and Playa Dorada.
It is not the largest beach in the area but it is in a crescent shaped cove and recieves protection, from the sometimes turbulent Atlantic Ocean, from the nearby Port wall. As result the sea here is rather calm and very safe for swimmers. At both ends of the beach are large slabs of volcanic lava flow.
Visitors to the beach would never go hungry or thirsty as the promenade is lined with numerous bars, restaurants and shops with a couple of statues added into the mix. Another feature of the Promenade is safety railings, to stop visitors falling on to the beach, they resemble ships anchor chains.
At the time of our visit there were no sunbeds or umbrellas to rent on the beach, we thought that it was too early in the tourist season. However, there were showers which were working. There was a ramp leading down onto the beach which makes it accessible for everyone

Stay from September 23 to October 7, 2023
As already indicated during our stay in June 2023, the lack of staff is felt especially at the bar, entertainment very good except that it would have been necessary to replace the 2 people absent, including 1 since July... Also review the catering ( pork chicken fish, rarely steaks and lamb - twice in 14 days...) of course we always find something to eat, but given the prices charged we would have to make an effort... we have experienced much better for less than 1 stay cheaper.
A big congratulations to the staff who had to manage the places in the restaurant even though the hotel was full. We were lucky, it was very hot so many meals were taken on the terrace.
Top reception staff as usual, top cleaning as well, a special mention to Orlando who worked in his glass cage without air conditioning...
The “pool supervisor” blah blah spends more time on his cell phone than on surveillance...
A cleaning of the deckchairs would also be welcome, some are very dirty and aging, well some use them as a dining table...
However, we are fans of this hotel since we go there twice a year, since 2015 and we are returning despite the price in 2024.
It would also be good to review the future prices for 2024 which are soaring.

To begin our check in was fab, we were given sparkling wine, water and lovely welcome. The lobby is grand and inviting. We arrived late in the night so we were sent to restaurant for food. The spread was great, Hams, cheeses and salad.
Good points-
the pools are so good and heated even in July, there are two jacuzzi pools with seats. The family room side of the hotel is nice the pool is also heated and the splash pad is great. The snack bar in the family side has fruit, sandwiches (only ham and cheese) but there is a toastie machine, but that’s it. The other snack bar was great, full spread of salad, tastie machines, cold meats, hot food and ice cream (free and not free). Self serve fizzy and slushies. The beds are amazing, cleaners amazing, we had a garden and were put together next door so was fabulous for the children. The entertainment was mediocre at best, the kids disco is good but quick, Sol Lanzarote was much better. Once the entertainment ends at 11 most people go to the terrace bar which closes at 12 after this isn’t all closed. We got in trouble for playing music on the terrace bar. The locations is a 30 min walk from playa Blanca central or 5 min taxi which cost 5 euro, or a 5 min scooter for roughly the same as a taxi, playa Blanca central comes alive after 7pm and the sea front is full of beautiful restaurants and shops, the bikers cafe across from Playa Dorada was the best place we had been, the mai Thai is the best cocktail ive had. The beach is fantastic with great water sports and lovely sand, its be so so hot and humid, its been fantastic.
Bad points -
no floats in the pool at all, only baby rings, no microwave, fridge is very tiny, lots of cockroaches, no outdoor seating for lunch, a tiny garden for dinner and breakfast, not very child friendly in the sense of a lot of glass everywhere. The restaurant is dated and food is average, it is difficult to communicate with the staff as they all speak only Spanish. the manager would constantly ask us to remove Our children because of crying etc. We had an argument with the neighbour before they moved us because the children ran through their garden. But if you wanted privacy there is no partitions between each garden. Garden lights go off at 12 so it’s complete darkness, the air con seemed to be the biggest problem in the hotel, everyone was sick because of it, our party and multiple other families suffered for this cold/sore throat/ cough. My brother aged 17 was served alcohol multiple times from bar staff and was also given cannabis by another guest. The hotel did help with he alcohol when it was reported it was managed.
Overall it was a good holiday but we wont be coming back to this hotel because it should be adults only.

Playa Blanca is a great place for a sunshine holiday if that's what you're looking for. If you're from the UK it's about three and a half hour flight.
Playa Blanca is reasonably priced and the locals are really nice and genuine
We really enjoyed our Villa and there's enough to do to keep you busy not too sure if you got small children
