Fabulous marina with plenty of eateries. Very relaxing.
Fabulous marina. Always full of wonderful boats from the smallest to the luxurious. The marina is clean with a great selection of restaurants/cafes. A market fills the marina 2 days per week and is always packed with people.

    Non market day
We have been here several times. Previously always on a Wednesday when the market is there. We went this time on a different day this time, which was much better. Quieter, nice to have a wander around the marina, look at the boats and have something to eat.

    SPOTLESSLY CLEAN!
We were staying at The Volcan Hotel, and had fabulous views of The Marina from our room. It’s so well kept, and with all the comings and goings, there’s so much to see. We ate at restaurants by The Marina every night of our stay, and we didn’t see one bit of litter anywhere!

    Enjoyable day out
Plenty of eateries and a few shops down at the Marina make it an enjoyable day out. A local market is on every Wednesday and Saturday selling local gifts and a few knock off bags, watches, etc. Plenty of fish can be seen which always interests younger kids (and some older) Highly recommend Natur cakes and cocktails. Great food and drink at good prices. Also Antiu Xixona for great ice cream at a fair price. There's a shopping centre across the road too though not a great deal in it.

    Stunning, relaxing place
Plenty of restaurants and shops to visit throughout the day and evening but booking for some restaurants is advised through the high season. There is also a market every Saturday and Wednesday until approximately 15.00, selling leather goods to football kits. The marina is a beautiful setting with plenty of things to see and do

    Utterly beautiful
We visited the Rubicon Marina one evening. The Marina is truly beautiful, lots of small restaurants and bars for a lovely drink while looking over the Marina. The Rubicon shopping mall was open so we also had a walk around and there were some fabulous shops with some great prices; perfumes, clothes and locally made alcohol and goods. If you are staying in the area I would definitely recommend visiting.

    Relaxation at it's best
We absolutely love Marina Rubicon. It's a great place to visit day or evening. Excellent choice of bars and restaurants for coffee and cake, drinks, tapas, pizza, steaks, cocktails - there's so much choice! All to be enjoyed in a beautiful setting looking out at the marina and atlantic ocean beyond. One place particularly worth a mention is Natur. Fantastic cocktails and so much more - all served by the friendliest bar tenders Juan and John. Highly recommend it. Good luck Juan with your studies in Madrid

    Fabulous Marina with pleasing views
We just love wandering around the marina. Lovely restaurants and bars and a great market on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. I bought some lovely jewellery made in design studios in Spain and they are very unique and value for money. We never miss a trip here when in Playa Blanca

What was the value of all the boats afloat in the marina?
We were in Playa Blanca for a few hours having travelled there by bus. After an enjoyable lunch we started exploring the town which included a stroll past the marina. It all looked so peaceful but I was left wondering the total value of the boats tied up at their moorings waiting on the start of the summer sailing season.

    A lovely little spot
Sayed in the Barcelo next door and popped down more than once during my holiday. What a great place - a working marina with some very impressive yachts moored up. Plenty of places to eat serving everything from coffee and cake to full dinner service, little cobbled streets, bridges over the water with plenty of fish in the pools and interesting shops to pop in to. Also visited on market day and although a couple of stalls were selling the usual cheap watches / sunglasses / hats the majority had a good selection of local goods - purchased a very nice wallet from a lovely local lady. Great place and highly recommended when in Playa Blanca.

A short walk along the promenade from Mirador Papagayo is Marina Rubicon, a peaceful and pleasant marina with a jetty capable of berthing 487 boats.

The Marina also benefits from a range of shops and cafes/bars, power supplies, maintenance teams, as well as an on-site laundry service that means that the sea-faring traveller could moor up here in complete self-sufficiency for as long as they wished.

The Marina itself benefits from its surroundings as it is protected from strong winds due to its location which is roughly equidistant between the beaches of Papagayo and Playa Blanca. It also benefits from lovely clear water in which you can sit and watch large fish, massive rays (be them Manta, Devil - I have no idea), and red crabs.

This isn't the Marina of the obscene. It's isn't Monte Carlo. The boats here are indeed impressive, but you don't feel that you are amongst the out of touch super-wealthy. There are, in fact, a mixture of vessels, including fishing boats, catamarans, and smart yachts.

I always enjoy walking down here to partake in a bit of nautical culture (such as I can manage) and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the area. Its a lovely place.

Very pretty place to walk around, have a drink or a meal, watch the boats or browse the shops.
With some new and modern restaurants nearby too.

Nice boats, overpriced restaurants with a dreadful reservation system, very hard to get out of here in a taxi. Nothing cheap here.

A great place to take it easy with lots of very good restaurants. Some very nice bars to sit at, have a bit of tapas and indulge in a few beers, a glass of wine or a jug of sangria.
A very scenic area with some good views of the bay, and playa blanca. 👌
